I attended church on Sunday where I am a member and I have been there for several months. It's a very large church where there are many cliques of members and it's difficult to know people if you don't belong to any cliques. I have been going to the same Sunday School class and I don't know anyone and no one knows me. I have tried to make friends but I can't break through these barriers. I have been praying about this problem and I finally asked my Sunday School class to pray for me about my loneliness and my lack of friends. They laid hands on me and prayed over me. After class, I tried to talk to the other class members and they walked out of the classroom. I thought that someone would talk to me but no one did. WHY DO CHRISTIANS KILL THEIR WOUNDED? Please pray for me about this situation and for the members of my church and my Sunday School class. Thank you all for praying for me and for agreeing for me in prayer. I am so sorry to hear of the problems that you have encountered in church. I am almost ashamed to say it, but sometimes church is not the place to meet the people whom God wishes for us to fellowship with. Yes there are wonderful congregations out there, and wonderful people, but you have to remember that satan will use anybody and anything to get us to turn our backs on God, even other christians. If we are not paying attention to our own actions, we can do more harm than good. Some people who call themselves "christians" really are just wolves in sheeps clothing. We must always be aware of our behavior and then people who look to other christians for guidance will be lead in the right direction and that is right to Jesus. I am not sure if this helps at all, but I will pray for you and for the people of your church.

Lord Jesus, I ask that Tom be shown by You what You would have him do about this situation. I pray that he will always be found doing Your will. I pray that You lead and direct his paths at all times. I pray that he will show himself friendly,so that others will want to be like him. Give him the strength to endure the cruelness of others. Give him faith to rely on You for all things. Lord, help this church and it's members to see that they are not showing themselves friendly. Lord help Tom to find a good church to attend where the people won't snub him and will accept him as one of your child. You know Heavenly Father that if your son Jesus himself were to walk into a church as a man these days they will crucify him allover again. Father touch the hearts' of those in that church and many others churches where they are using your house of worship as a country club rather than your house for all to come and feel closer to you in worship. Pray for the church members to follow Christ's footsteps. You seem to be doing so by trying to fellowship with them. Be strong in faith and prayer, in Jesus name.

Lord, we walk by faith and not by sight. Not all church attenders are true christians and not really saved. We must continue to keep our eyes on Jesus and not on each other for surely we will fail, we are all sinners. I pray this person will forgive those who have hurt him/her so deeply. I am sorrowful for this behaviour. I myself attended a church and am still attending a church where it took me years to fell welcome. I needed to step out of my comfort zone and get to know people who were like minded in Christ. I grieve for this guest Lord and ask that in spite of the hurt that they will not give up. We can still Love God and worship in church. It is all about you Lord and not about us. I wish I could reach out and provide comfort for this hurt Lord, please heal this wounded soul Lord. I myself ask for forgiveness of these insentive folks who probally don't even realize what they have done. How ignorant! Lord also forgive me for every hurt and pain that I might have caused to anyone without knowing it or realizing it. Please bless this guest 100 fold Lord and surround this guest with a faithful cloud of wittnesses. I will be a retard for Jesus or whatever he wants me to be for him. I will do it gladly. Your situation sounds familiar. I would try another smaller church.
You sound like a nice person and I would visit different churches in your community. Don't give up.

Why do people act like that? Thats why people don't want to serve the Lord because that is how they are treated when they come into the church. Thank God man isn't going to be t heaven's gate!!!!!

I've been there also and tried so many churches that I can't even count in my two hands. They all have cliques and are very judgmental, not friendly people at all, specially if you are of the older generation. But I have not let them turn me off God if anything I've gotten closer to God in my own way. I don't need a snob minister or group to lead me to my heavenly Father. It was Jesus who died at the cross for us, not people that believe in their man made doctrinations. I have found more descent and sincere people that don't attend church and have befriended me, these have been there for me when I needed them. So don't give up remember who died for your sins and keep loving God above all things Tom and the lord will recompense you with freedom to serve Him without being hurt, for they can kill us spiritually. These same people if Jesus were to visit their church today, they will turn on him and crucify him allover again.
Lord I believe the day is here on us already of when you said, the day will come when we will serve our heavenly Father in spirit and truth. Teach Tom to love you more than anything in his life, and not let those hypocrites playing church, or using the church as a social club hurt him spiritually. Bless him and direct his steps to where you will want him to have fellowship with. Make him strong of faith in you and in himself, and send him some real loving friends who loves you too.
