RE: Someone here

Spiritual gifts are the source of much controversy and confusion among believers. This is interesting and something of a sad commentary, since these gifts are meant to be graces from God for the edification of the church. Even today, as in the early church, the misuse and misunderstanding of spiritual gifts bring division--splitting up, rather than building up--in the church.

Prophecy - This is the "forth telling" of the inspired Word of God primarily to the church, for the purpose of confirming the written Word and building up the entire body. The message is usually one of edification, exhortation or consolation, not of condemnation or judgement, although it can declare God's will in a particular circumstance, and in rare cases, predict future events.

When done outside of the church buildings where there are people that don't understand the gifts of the spirits, this can be a turn off from God, and will not serve of any good to those who had come to this website for help in prayer. The only benefit will be for the person prophesying and edification of themselves, and that my Dear friends serve nobody, but themselves. God will never have us do anything, which he knows will turn off non believers away specially when they are hurting and seeking help when they come to this website.

Guest, this board was founded by the Administrator based upon a vision of the Lord and under the unction of the Holy Spirit. He is the owner of the site and as he stated, it is for praying, preaching, teaching, the use of gifts as given by the Lord and whatever the Lord leads believers to contribute. It has served many and helped most who come here.

While we are all entitled to our opinions...sometimes they are best kept to ourselves when they do not serve to edify or uplift. There are things said here with which I agree and things with which I do not. But I am not God...and am not in a position to judge most of them. One thing is certain though. No amount of opinion or head knowledge will ever replace the simplicity of God's plans for us. If He wants us to give prophesy, we will. We will not be able to resist the unction of the Holy Spirit. If He wants us to preach and teach we will, His will is going to drive us until we obey if we are His. If it is more important to some who come here to be right or to argue their point of view then the question must be asked why...who or what is driving them? The truth of the Word is that it is a Word of peace and tolerance for All who love the Lord...not of division and argumentation. It is a Word of Devotion to the Father and His Son, and all of the gifts He has given to the body of Christ. The Word teaches that each one of us that is saved will experience each of the gifts of the Spirit at least once before we die. For example, I do not have the gift of healing, but on one extreme occasion in my daughter's life many years ago the Father bestowed the power of healing on me to use with her to draw her to Him...He healed through me and it drew her and changed her life through the experience. I do not have the gift of tongues, but once in the privacy of my prayer closet when my faith was waning and I had been praying earnestly, the heavenly language came out of me...and it deepened my understanding of the God that I serve. Neither has been visited upon me since...but the power of both experiences was life changing. The gifts that I do have I use daily in my walk with God...He has made them clear and I obey Him in the use of them for the people of God. Prayer and Discernment, Exhortation and Teaching the Word...and I thank God daily that He has chosen to make me useful in His service.

We each walk within a unique plan and destiny for our lives...and that destiny is often not known to others that have no need to know...but none of us are in a position to tell others what gifts they have or do not have. Those who present themselves as bearers of gifts that honestly do not have them will be revealed by God...and in His time and will be dealt with severely. It is not our task to do. We are to remain prayerful and Test a spirit by the Spirit.

JW123 use your gifts as the Spirit leads...let nothing and no-one deter you. What benefit will you derive from suppressing them...the admiration and agreement of men with sinful natures? What value does that have when compared to the failure to please God who is the One who bestows the gift? God bless you for your obedience and your courage. May the Lord guide you and protect you all the days of your life.

Father may we concentrate on what you have asked us to do here, and stop all this arguing back and forth. All this does not Glorify your in anyway. Bless everyone that comes to this board and may we all keep our eyes on you, who is our only hope in our time of need, sorrow, healing, and salvation. In Jesus Christ Precious Name I pray, and I thank you in advance Heavenly Father to whom all the Honor, the Glory, and the Power belongs, Amen! Warrior
Psalm 23
1- The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2- He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3- he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4- Even though I walk
through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5- You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6- Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
Mathew 18:19 - 20
"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. Amen

RE: Someone here

You are very confused and angry for lack of knowledge and understanding biblically. You are reasoning from your own understanding. JW123 was not prophesying but discerning.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Read again: "[Father God. I feel that there is someone on this site who is desperate for healing and forgiveness. They read the prayer requests but dont feel that you love them enough to help THEM. The have not posted here at all or recently, but watch the site. He or she is bound by something that they feel they have no control over and it keeps them imprisoned and unable to break free. They cant do this in their strength and keep failing. YOU Father God, want them to KNOW that all they have to do is call out to you sincerly believing that you will act in their life and accomplish great things in the future. The Devil whispers to them that they are no good, worthless, that they have made so many mistakes and broken so many commandments that they do not deserve your forgiveness. THIS IS A LIE. This person CAN and WILL break free, you are waiting for them to just BELIEVE in the blood that your precious son, Jesus Christ shed for sinners (and we ALL fall short of the glory of God).
God wants you, and I pray that the Holy Spirit, speaks to you to READ and believe John 10 vs 16 as he is CALLING YOU, yes YOU to him. Be free friend. Be free in what Christ did on the cross. AMEN]"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Prophecy is a proclaimation or declaration of something God has opened up by the spirit in your heart and your understanding. Only God can truly predict the future because only He has the power to make His predictions come to pass (Isaiah 46:9-11).

Discernment could come in different ways, bible speaks for example the gift of discerning spirits; that's about telling what spirits is at work in a given situation i.e., is it the holy spirit at work, is it demonic spirit or is it just human spirit at work. This is not necessarily lead to prophetic declaration.

In the bible context, discernment has to do with the perception of understanding of the presence of the spiritual force in a place or circumtance. It has nothing to do with prophecy at all. So, to mix the two up is lack of biblical education and understanding.

God Bless!

RE: Someone here

I believe people need to rethink why they are angry. JW123 is always on these boards praying for others. She means no malice to anyone and just seeks to spread blessings. If she was compelled by the Lord to give a message, who are we to be angry. You may not agree with what she posted (frankly, I find nothing wrong with it) but there is no room for name calling or heated arguments when we come together in Jesus name. It is with love and respect that we should post. Have a blessed day!

Timothy 2:24
And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil.

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

RE: Someone here

The Bible makes it clear that, even in the church’s infancy, there were many false prophets and teachers who claimed to speak God’s words with God’s authority. These men were strangers to God and yet claimed to speak for Him. Many Christians were drawn in by their words and were led astray by them. Because of this Scripture contains many exhortations for Christians to test all teaching. John writes, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1). Just one verse earlier, in John 3:24, John has spoken of the fact that the Holy Spirit is given to us as evidence of God’s presence in our lives. And having spoken of the Spirit, John now ensures that his readers know that not every spirit is holy. We are tempted to believe and obey spirits, for they represent a spiritual realm that is outside of our experience, but many spirits are commanded by Satan, the father of lies. Because of this we need to test or prove the spirits to see if they come from God.

Some commentators draw a direct line from the spiritual gift of prophecy to the gift of discerning spirits, but I am not sure this argument can be sustained. When we combine the presence of this gift with Paul’s exhortation to “test everything,” it seems that the gift of discernment would be likely to extend far beyond prophecy.

All Christians are responsible to test words of teaching and prophecy. The Bereans were considered noble for hearing the teaching of Paul and Silas, receiving them with eagerness and “examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so” (Acts 17:11). These believers tested the words of the apostles, examining the Scriptures to see if what they were being taught was consistent with what they knew of God’s revelation of Himself. In doing this they modeled the task of all believers. Christians are ultimately responsible for what they choose to believe, no matter whether or not they have been gifted with the spiritual gift of discernment.

I think we all have the right to test the spirits, if anyone gets offended by us questioning what some people wants us to believe it's not a sin, nor satanic. For we have to be very careful when it comes to believing everything someone tells us it's from God. To God be the glory and may the author of my salvation be exolted.
