My name is Peter Johnson and I have been unemployed for over five months, except for the Army National Guard which is only 1 weekend a month and is unable to pay the bills. I have applied at many upon many companies and only 1 is willing to hire, but have two that I am working towards. The one that I am theoretically hired with can't fully hire me until get another foreman for a work team, and the other is with the local fire dept. The catch with the fire dept is that they don't hire or send someone through the academy after age 35, I will be 36 on Monday, Nov 15. I have been going through the hiring process with them for almost two years now and on the Tues. the 16th have the next step in the process. I am worried that they will tell me that I am not eligible because of my age, even though it has been almost if not more than two years since starting the process. Please pray for the roofing company to find/hire/promote someone for foreman and that I will still be eligible for the fire department.
