Jesus came and lived and died and rose again to restore our relationship with Him, so I know that restored relationships are important to Him; He is the God of restored relationships, not broken relationships, and the God of second chances. Please pray that God would restore and renew the broken relationship between my daughter and her former boyfriend JB (both Christians, college students). Pray that God would soften and turn his heart back to her. Pray that He would replace any anger/hurt/bitterness/dislike/disinterest in JB's heart with forgiveness for us, and love and desire for my daughter. Pray that God would remove any barriers preventing JB from renewing his relationship with her. Pray that God will prevent JB from forming any other romantic relationships, and if he has, to turn those into platonic friendships so that other hearts are not broken. Bring him back to my daughter. Keep her on JB’s heart and mind constantly; make her once again the girl of his dreams, the girl he wanted to spend his life with. Convict him for the way he is treating her; open his heart and mind to realize and appreciate the “treasure” (JB’s dad’s description) that God gave him in my daughter when He brought them together and that JB just threw away when things were no longer so easy for him. JB has never had to work for anything; everything has always just been given to him. Pray that God would show him that my daughter is worth pursuing, fighting for, and waiting for. Bring to his mind the feelings he had for her and the things he said to her. JB has said that he wants to “be head over heels in love.” God, answer that desire of his heart by causing him to fall head over heels in love with my daughter; surprise, amaze, and overwhelm him with love and desire for her, and open his eyes to see that that love and desire are a gift from You. God, cause their paths to cross and make it impossible for him to avoid her. Lead JB’s family, friends, and acquaintances to counsel him to renew his relationship with my daughter, and open his heart to accept and act on that counseling. She does not want to “date a lot of guys” as her dad wishes, but wants to marry the man that God brings to her. Long ago God laid on her heart the qualities she wanted in a spouse; then He brought her and JB together and formed a Godly relationship between them. She said at the time that JB had all the qualities God had laid on her heart, and they sometimes spoke of marriage. Then her dad decided to break up their relationship by forbidding her to spend any time with JB on the weekends and even called JB’s dad to tell him not to invite my daughter to any of JB’s family activities. She honored her dad by obeying him and doing what he asked and that cost her her relationship with JB. Please pray that God would honor her by bringing JB back to her and restoring their relationship. God, bring them together in a relationship that is better than they could ever imagine, one that is acceptable to her dad and pleasing to God. This situation is tearing our family apart.
