Just want to give everyone a quick update on my friend Gina. So many of you have been praying for her over the course of the last 6 months. She is currently in a nursing/rehab facility. This is a long road. She is expected to make a recovery but this recovery from what I understand is up to her own determination. Now with that being said she is a very determined individual however with everything that is going on in her life as well as the fact that she almost died has her being a little anxious. She is now asking why the Lord even allowed her to live because she just feels like she is not going to walk again. We do believe she will but it is a mental issue at this point.
To give you a little background - She is a piano player, teacher and tuner by trade. She has nerve damage in her left hand which is take up to a year to heal and it might not even come back to where it was before she went on life support. She is not able to play the way she used to. Her other skills are compromised because of the nerve damage. She is having a hard time walking because of this as well.
Needless to say she is feeling very down (and refuses to take any anti anxiety meds - she says that she needs to feel this and can talk with Jesus to get through it) and I do believe that it is affecting the way she is going about things.
My prayer request is
1. For her to be strengthened mentally and physically.
2. That the Lord would just place himself around her and give her
strength.
3. For her to have peace about decisions that have been made
regarding her profession. (this is bothering her as well).
4. For a financial miracle. Needless to say this whole ordeal has
been a financial strain and while cash flow is low she has several
ways to get funds via a sale of one of her properties which is
currently for sale. Please pray that the Lord would sell this
property immediately. Bring the right buyer and sell it.
5. Please pray that the insurance company will continue to cover
her physical therapy. They cover 6 sessions at a time and then
renew the session and her 6th session was today and she won't
know until tomorrow if they will cover the next set. I know it is
stupid but this is how this insurance company works. Please pray
that they feel that she is making progress enough to keep her
therapy going.
Everyone please keep praying. She is getting better but it is a loooong road and the insurance company has been so tough to deal with that it is not even funny.
