I need to hear Yahweh's voice for a clear direction
My wife has found a job in a city 110 miles away. I need to know that God (Yahweh) has a better job for me and a better place for us to live than what we currently have. My wife claims to be hearing from Yahweh, but I have not heard anything, so I am asking all of you who read this to say as many prayers as you can for me that I am able to clearly hear his voice. Every prayer request that I have ever posted on here has been answered, and I expect this to be answered too. If you are fasting, I ask you to say twice as many prayers for us, because your prayers are done with sacrifice and hence more effective.

Mt:6:16: Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

RE: I need to hear Yahweh's voice for a clear direction
Spending time in prayer and fasting is not automatically effective in accomplishing the desires of those who fast. Fasting or no fasting, God only promises to answer our prayers when we ask according to His will. 1 John 5:14-15 tells us, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him." In the prophet Isaiah's time, the people grumbled that they had fasted, yet God did not answer in the way they wanted (Isaiah 58:3-4). Isaiah responded by proclaiming that the external show of fasting and prayer, without the proper heart attitude, was futile (Isaiah 58:5-9).
How can you know if you are praying and fasting according to God's will? Are you praying and fasting for things that honor and glorify God? Does the Bible clearly reveal that it is God's will for you? If we are asking for something that is not honoring to God or not God's will for our lives, God will not give what we ask for, whether we fast or not. God promises to give us wisdom when we ask. James 1:5 tells us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."

Is it significant that the messiah started his ministry after a 40 day fast, or that Moses received the 10 commandments after a 40 day fast?
God only promises to answer our prayers when we ask according to His will.

Richard, I pray in the Name of Jesus that God would make His will very clear to you in this situation. I pray that He would bless and prosper you and your family as you seek His will for your lives. God does give us wisdom as it says in James 1:5 and so you should expect an answer to your prayers. I am praying He will make all things clear to you both. Amen.
