Marriage

I have been married to my Wonderful wife for 22 years. We were married at 18 yrs old and had our 4 children by the age of 22. Our kids are now 18,19,20, & 21 and we have a 2 1/2 yr old grandson. My wife and I are both age 40. We have had our shares of tests and trials, tough times, and financial struggles. Which have gotten extremely worse over the past 5 years. Our marriage has suffered becuase of it. I have fallen away from God during the past 5 years and started carrying the burdens on my own shoulders. Due to this, I began to shut down. I allowed myself to close up emotionally, supportively, physically, mentally. I wasn't there 100% for my wife and kids. I was so overwhelmed that I failed them as a Husband and Father. We moved to a new city about 30 miles from our home town, just as the kids were entering high school, because our current area was starting to get bad with drugs and violence. We thought it would be good for the kids. UNfortunately that back fired and it only got worse. Here are some examples of things that happened in the past 5 years. My best friend of 20 years died. Whom was also the owner of the company I was running. His wife then closed the business the day after Christmas without notice and I was without a job that fast. My Oldest son (at the time 18, now 21) got his girlfriend pregnant. My 2nd oldest son (now age 20, started at age 14) started doing drugs and then became a heroin addict and almost died twice (we since sent him to teen challenge in Arizona and he is doing great). My youngest son (now age 19, started age 15)began to get in trouble with the law about 5 years ago and it only got worse over time, he was in and out of jail and court for like 4 years straight. After losing my job, I started my own business in the same field and took out a 2nd mortgage to get it off the ground. After a short 1 1/2 I was forced to close the doors due to the failing economy. I probably should have closed it sooner, but I just kept thinking and praying that things would turn around. In the mean time, we went throught the 2nd mortgage, savings, and 401k to try to survive. So when we closed down, we had nothing left. Then our only vehicle broke down (transmission) and it would cost $2500-$3000 to fix. We couldnt do it. I borrowed a vehilce from a good friend for almost 2 years. Then I went on a golf outing with some family. Went to eat after at a pub. I am not a big drinker, but decided to have a few with my family. I had about 4-5 drinks. Then stopped. We were going to stay for another 3-4 hours to catch up, but my brother decided to keep drinking and started a fight with someone there. I decided to get him out of there before it got worse. Well driving down the road, he punched me in the face, giving me 2 fractures in my face, a shifted sinus, cut cornea, and I crashed into a ditch. He them left me there alone. Police showed up I was out of it, and they had me blow, and I was over the limited by 3 tenths and got a DUI. Took me 3 years to get my license back. Plus caused $2500 in damage to a vehicle thta wasn't mine. Then I couldn't find work. I put out over 450 resumes and nothing. I was getting so discouraged. I was at the worst point in my life and everyone in my life was suffering because of me. I failed them. Them our home went into foreclosure. Them all my kids moved out and now (within the past 2 weeks) my wife said she is leaving me. I have never been the greatest at handling stress and worry and reacting in a good way during. I was short tempered with my family. I was shut down. I was giving up. I was overwhelmed, I felt like a failure. and I wasn't giving it to God. I caused my wife to not want to be with me. I love her so much. I don't want this. We are now coming out of this horrible time in our life and all I want is to be able to show my wife how much I love her. I don't want to live without her. I can go on forever with this, but my prayer request is this. Please prayer for God to continue to work in me, to change me to be more in his image, to honor Him in all I do. To give me strength throughout this time. Pray for my marriage, for my wife, to be able to forgive me, so that she may love me again. To heal our marriage. To help me to be the husband He planned for me to be. I love my wife more than I can express in words and yet I allowed myself to fall so low, that I didn't realize I was treating her so badly in the process. Lord...I am Sorry!! Please forgive me!!! Please let me keep my wife!

RE: Marriage

Father...draw this man and his wife close to you so that they may hear your voice. Let them call upon you to give them directions and instructions. Father that you hate divorce is proclaimed in your word. Let the light of God shine upon this couple and let them heed your commands. In Jesus name...Amen!

RE: Marriage

Dear Lord, please have mercy on this family.
In the Name of the Lord, right now I command to all the power of darkness and the curses to leave this family! Now!
I pray that Your will to be done in their lives.
You are the King of kings and Your Name is Wonderful.
Thank You my Lord

Warrior Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.

RE: Marriage

Guest give this prayer as well say this to your wife, she was in this as well it was her burden as well, she probably needs to hear your words, even if for know she is hurt and disappointed, you can start a process to heal wounds and broken hearts. you are not alone, maybe you didn't know how to communicate, prehaps a fresh start with Jesus leading you will help heal your whole family, we all fail God at times that is why he is here to forgive us, he is just like you described your children we do the same, when we truly find him who has the Victory, your children could be 20 years into drugs, truly you and your wife are blessed, a young person having a baby, God has a plan for every child born they are atrue blessing, what would you do differently if that baby was not here do you not love him, we can never change whats happens only be thankful on the blessings and the outcome afterward, you found both of your first loves again, Jesus and your wife, you lost a job, lost a business, lost alot but you have not lost God, follow him he will set your path straight, I ask Lord that you direct this man to the position and work you have instore for him, i pray he will live in a healthy home, i ask that you restore his family, give them peace joy and love for one another, help this man to understand he did not fail in life he lived it, help him to be a friend to someone in need today and his wife to open up her eyes to see and ears to hear, let her heart receive what you have for her family. In Jesus name Amen

RE: Marriage

I understand your pain. My husband wants a divorce as well, and I want to work on our marriage. I love him so much it hurts and I don't want to lose him either. Please do not lose faith. Give your life and your marriage over to the Lord and ask Him to guide you to transform you and your marriage in His image. Look to his word for His promises that are real and true. When all else dies away in this world all that will be left is Him and His promises because they supersede any and everything on this earth. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He can heal your marriage. He can restore and make your marriage new. Pray with your wife if you can, but if not you can still pray on your own. Continue to ask for help in prayer. Christ said "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." And, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him." These aren't just things that were written about the past, they are real promises for use in our lives right now. I know that He can save your marriage even now. I know how much it hurts and this world would have us believe that all is lost because nothing "seems" to be different. But God is moving in your life even now and will not forsake you. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9. Speak this promises out loud in your life. Use your tongue to fight the enemy, who wants to destroy your family. Use God's own words from the bible. With words, God spoke the earth and the heavens into existence. His words are powerful and when we use them in our own lives they have power over darkness. God wants to save your marriage. God wants to save your family. Don't forget that and please do not give up. Fall, but get back up and God will be there ever time.
"Lord, please save his marriage and his family. Use them according to your will. Move in them and touch their lives in a profound and miraculous way for your Glory. We know that there is nothing to big for you Lord and that you are able to make all things new. Father, I pray that your Holy Spirit would come upon this family and that you would drive out anything that is not from you. Lord, please heal this family for you have said that "the words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life". Father, I pray "LIFE" into this family and this marriage Lord, in your name.Thank you for loving us and for never leaving us. Thank you for your promises and your grace. Thank you for being our healer and for forgiving our iniquities. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
I will continue to pray for our marriages. Thank you for seeking Him and for letting us pray for you.
