Marriage Restoration

My wife left home after a very long argument we had..trying to resolve the conflicts in our marriage. We have been married for 9 years this December, and blessed with three beautiful daughters ages 8,5, and 4. Our marriage has been cold and distant and recently she confessed to being attracted to one of my friends from our church. The confession was not a shock to me because I noticed how she warmed up to the guy during a recent occassion at our first daughter's birthday. I was hurt even more when she confessed of her attraction; I became angry and exchanged bitter words with her as she tried to justify the attraction, attributing it to my emotinal neglect of her. When she left, I felt sad, confused, angrier, guilty. I started praying earnestly and went on a 3 day fast. The Lord showed me so much wrong in me especially the unforgiving spirit. Its been a month since she left us, we tried to contact her through her sisters but they refused to talk to me. Last weekend, I dropped the girls at her sister's house because they desperately wanted to see their Mom; she wasnt there but she later came and spent the weekend with them. She has not contacted me but my prayer request is that the Lord will enable her to take courage and initiate reconciliation process.

RE: Marriage Restoration

I have a personal recommendation that was especially helpful to me recently- the book titled "The Five Languages of Love" by Gary Chapman. It was extremely helpful to me.
God I pray for this man. I ask that you work out the issues in him and help him to draw nearer to you through this trial. Every time he starts to felt lonely or pity, please remind him that he can be pityful or he can be powerful, but he can't be both. Please show him how to be powerful. Help him to use the verses in the Bible that you have shown him and help him to just continue speaking those outloud every time the devil tries to hit him with fear, worry, doubt, and unforgiveness. Help him to overcome these things. Mark 9:24 says "I do believe! Help me overcome my unbelief." I pray that you put your hand on his wife's mind and on her heart. Shape her, mold her, change her mind. I ask that you restore this relationship to what you will have it be, far beyond what it ever was before. The devil despises unity, and God blesses unity. I ask that you continue to bless this marriage. These problems didn't arise over night and they will not be corrected over night. I know God, that you alone can fix this man's relationship with his wife. You can fix the areas of his mind and heart that desperately need your touch and you can do the same for his wife. I ask that you do each of these things and put your hand on his children to love them and help them know that you are always with them. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
