It's not, "easy," to be or remain single. There are those that commit to the path to obey God's Word through circumstance. The rewards are in Heaven. Lessons are to be learned (being a Christian we often suffer/it's in the bible).
Marriage is not easy either, but obeying The Lord is rich & fruitful.

The idea of offending God bothers me a lot. I choose to live my life in ways that is most pleasing to HIM. It is NOT easy.

12 "In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil."

I believe that God will direct our paths, being single many years (18 after last divorce) I come to feel that way much as well, however just to remind you that in Genesis God says it is not good for man to be alone, let us make a helper for him. I think it is sometimes easier for some than others. I will pray for you as I know the challenges and pain of being single. In Jesus name I pray.
