Family issues
I have a family function coming up. I have had major issues in my family, especially with my adopted brother (who has asked for this family meal to be planned). A few years ago I told my family how he had abused me when I was a young child and he turned them all against me and basically put all the blame on me and made me appologise for causing him stress. The other times we have talked all he said was that he will not feel guilty and that I was the one in the wrong and he had done nothing wrong. I am very worried about this family function and truly do not want to go (especially since my father said to me that I am not allowed to talk about my faith, despite the fact that he has seen my life turn around since coming to faith). I just do not want to go, and I am not sure if I am just anxious but I have a real bad feeling about it. My brother is very cold and he hated me from being a child. I would not put anything past him. He has said he will drive me there and back. I really do not want to go. Please pray for me.

RE: Family issues
Father, let not havemercylord2010's heart be troubled for you are in control. You are the God that kept and delivered Daniel from the Lion's den. Let him know, therefore, that your power is enough and your grace sufficient to bring him through a family meal. When we forgive others Father...we need your power to do as you do...to throw the sins against us into the Sea of Forgetfulness. Holding onto our pain is a habit that allows us to remain victims controlled by fear. Truly seeing the other person as they are...broken, without hope if they do not have you, helps us to know that it is they who are the true victims as their lives are without your redemption, your certainty of progress, without any hope of change or growth. Father...show this man that we do not have to discuss our faith for it to be seen. The change in us, the peace in us, the love in us, the forgiveness in us speaks louder than any testimony ever could to those that have hurt us. Your word says "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies." Psalm 138:7 and also "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever. " Psalm 138:8 Let this man know in his heart that this is true and rest in the assurance that this breaking of bread together is in your will and he will gain strength from it no matter the outcome. In Jesus name...Amen!

Please give this person wisdom and discernment. Remove the enemy and any doubts or ill feelings he may cause. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen
