Broken heart

My husband had an affair, and i chose to forgive him. Thia happened in january. Since then he has started going to church with me, quit drinking and it much nicer to our family. I need prayer because i live in ups and downs. I have good days and bad days. It stll hurts a lot, and i think about the other woman every single day. I compare myself to her, and i feel inferioir and tortured. I am still in so much pain. Please pray for me. Thank you so much.

RE: Broken heart

Dear Lord, we know that everything that you allow us to happen is for a reason and part of your plan for a prosperous future. (Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.) Therefore lord we Trust in you with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Lord I ask favour on this lady's life. You filled her with enough love to forgive her husband therefore I have no doubt that you will guide her through this pain to a happy marriage where they will live and worship you according to your will. Amen

RE: Broken heart

Father, please in your mercy mend this woman's broken heart. Draw her close to you that you may whisper secrets in her ear about how special she is. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made...and that she was bought with a price. Tell her that she is an heir to your kingdom and a sister of Christ. Remind her that she, therefore, is royal blood, a princess of God. Father let her look at her husband and the changes that he has made...and be grateful each day for the blessing. Many husbands who have strayed do not find their way back to You Father and therefore to their families. Let her hide in her heart your word..."If God be for us...who can be against us." "Let her look to the hills from which cometh her help." Let her rest in the assurance that you are in control and that your love is unending and that you find your strength in her weakness. Let her lean on you and find her joy...and relax in the arms of this husband enjoying every moment of fellowship that you brought back to her. In Jesus name...Amen!

RE: Broken heart

Broken Heart,

While there may be things that you need to improve upon in the relationship, you need to remember that in this instance, your husband made the decision completely on his own. It was not your fault in any way, no matter what he may think/say or what you may say to yourself. It probably had little to do with the other woman as well--usually when someone cheats, it's simply a selfish-lust-driven impulse. Don't compare yourself to her, because God did not make you to be her--He made you to be YOU. Remember that the next time you start thinking about what she has--I'm not saying it's unnatural (if I were in your situation I would probably do the same). However, the point is, you can never be her--you're not meant to be her. Just be the person God would have you to be.

I'm not sure if your husband is saved, but I hope that he is or that he would be soon. Perhaps then the Lord can better direct him to be the husband you need him to be--and the Lord will heal you in time. You just have to trust in Him to provide.

Dear Lord,

I pray that You would have Your hand in this situation. Please meet the needs, especially of this wife, Lord. Please heal her wounded heart and allow her to realize the wonderful woman that you made her to be, in spite of her husband's decision. I pray that her husband would see the magnitude of his actions and that he would have a true, repentent heart. I ask that if he is not saved, Lord, that You would be a witness through this wife as well as through the church they are attending. Please soften his heart to hear Your truth and to be receptive of Christ. And finally, please direct him to be a servant of You and to lead his family closer to You. Bring this marriage back into unity.

We thank you for all these things. In Christ's name I pray. Amen.
