Broken heart
My husband had an affair, and i chose to forgive him. Thia happened in january. Since then he has started going to church with me, quit drinking and it much nicer to our family. I need prayer because i live in ups and downs. I have good days and bad days. It stll hurts a lot, and i think about the other woman every single day. I compare myself to her, and i feel inferioir and tortured. I am still in so much pain. Please pray for me. Thank you so much.

RE: Broken heart
Broken Heart,
While there may be things that you need to improve upon in the relationship, you need to remember that in this instance, your husband made the decision completely on his own. It was not your fault in any way, no matter what he may think/say or what you may say to yourself. It probably had little to do with the other woman as well--usually when someone cheats, it's simply a selfish-lust-driven impulse. Don't compare yourself to her, because God did not make you to be her--He made you to be YOU. Remember that the next time you start thinking about what she has--I'm not saying it's unnatural (if I were in your situation I would probably do the same). However, the point is, you can never be her--you're not meant to be her. Just be the person God would have you to be.
I'm not sure if your husband is saved, but I hope that he is or that he would be soon. Perhaps then the Lord can better direct him to be the husband you need him to be--and the Lord will heal you in time. You just have to trust in Him to provide.
Dear Lord,
I pray that You would have Your hand in this situation. Please meet the needs, especially of this wife, Lord. Please heal her wounded heart and allow her to realize the wonderful woman that you made her to be, in spite of her husband's decision. I pray that her husband would see the magnitude of his actions and that he would have a true, repentent heart. I ask that if he is not saved, Lord, that You would be a witness through this wife as well as through the church they are attending. Please soften his heart to hear Your truth and to be receptive of Christ. And finally, please direct him to be a servant of You and to lead his family closer to You. Bring this marriage back into unity.
We thank you for all these things. In Christ's name I pray. Amen.
