Primary reason for curses:
(a) Not hearing God's voice
(b) Not doing what He says There are seven blessings and seven curses referred to in the law in Scripture.

Seven blessings: (Deuteronomy 28)
(1) Exaltation
(2) Reproductiveness
(3) Health
(4) Prosperity, success
(5) Victory
(6) That we are the head and not the tail
(7) That we will be above and not beneath

There are seven curses referred to in the same chapter:
(1) Humiliation
(2) Barrenness
(3) Sickness of every kind
(4) Poverty, failure
(5) Defeat
(6) We will be the tail and not the head
(7) We will be below and not above

Indications of Curses:
(1) Mental, emotional breakdown
(2) Repeated sickness, especially hereditary sickness -doctors can't find the cause
(3) Feminine problems -barrenness, miscarriage, menstruation problems
(4) Breakdown of marriage -family alienation
(5) Financial insufficiency, poverty. Sometimes poverty for a short period is just a test but if we are always in poverty it could be a curse.
(6) Accident prone
(7) History of unnatural deaths


REASONS FOR CURSES:
(1) Having false gods (Exodus 20: 3& 4, Deuteronomy 27: 15)
(2) Disrespect for parents (Deuteronomy 27: 16)
(3) Treachery against a neighbour (Deuteronomy 27: 17)
(4) Injustice to the weak (Deuteronomy 27: 18& 19)
(5) Illicit sex (Deuteronomy 27: 20-23) (Effect of wrong sexual relationships, particularly those outside of marriage or with members of one's family)
(6) Perjury (Deuteronomy 27: 25)
(7) Stealing (Zechariah 5: 1-4)
(8) Stinginess towards God (Malachi 3: 9)
(9) Perverting gospel (Galatians 1: 8& 9)
(10) Depending on the flesh (Jeremiah 17: 5)
(11) Anti-Semitism (Genesis 12: 3, Genesis 28: 3& 14)


To be delivered:
(1) Confess the spirit in the name of Jesus.
(2) Renounce the spirit in the name of Jesus.
(3) Forgive others.
(4) Call on the name of the Lord Jesus.


PRAYER:

"Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ. I thank You Lord for Your love for me. I confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Saviour and that He died and rose again from the dead.

I believe that through the blood of Jesus Christ I have been redeemed from the hand of the devil. I believe that through the blood of Jesus Christ all my sins have been forgiven.

I believe that through the blood of Jesus Christ I have been sanctified, made holy to God. I believe that through the blood of Jesus Christ I have been justified just as if I had never sinned.

I now confess all my sins. I confess that in my own strength I have been unable to defeat the attacks of the enemy. I specifically renounce the following sexual sin .......... I confess I have been wrong. I renounce all pleasure connected with these sins. I now turn from my sin. I ask You, Father, to forgive me all that is past and give me discernment when the temptation arises and the strength to resist it. I ask You to heal my memories and to heal the hurts and forgive me in Jesus name.

I also specifically renounce any other sins such as rejection, unforgiveness. I especially forgive the following persons .................

I specifically honour my parents and I forgive them. I renounce my own sins and the sins of my ancestors in the name of Jesus Christ. I especially renounce all idolatry, witchcraft and everything of the occult and all the hidden things of darkness. I call upon You, Lord Jesus, to set me free from every demonic power that has affected me.

Lord, I now renounce Satan and all his works. I hate his demons. I count them my enemies in the name of Jesus. I loose myself from every dark spirit, from every evil influence, from every satanic bondage, from any spirit in me that is not the Spirit of God. I command all such spirits to leave me now in the name of Jesus.

I call upon You, Lord Jesus, to set me free from every demonic power that has affected me. In the name of Jesus Christ, Risen Saviour, I command every demonic power that has lived within me or oppressed me to leave me now in the name of Jesus Christ. I declare that I am a child of the Living God and that Satan has no right to inhabit any part of me or to oppress me. I thank You Lord Jesus and I give You the glory. Amen."

I’m blessed with God’s immeasurable spiritual resources and provision in every area of my life, including my deepest heartaches and needs. I’m blessed with the leading of the Holy Spirit to respond to my problems in faith, not with a victim mentality, avoidance, blame-shifting, or rationalization. I am blessed with wisdom, perseverance, endurance, and joy as I face problems, rejoicing in the situations of my life instead of complaining and turning back as I find new treasures in the nature of God. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I’m enabled to embrace problems, view them as challenges and opportunities for growing faith, as new ways to see the facets of God and how he will work in and through them to accomplish his plan for my life. I can see the presence of God in problems and can look in faith beyond the immediate to the eternal. I’m blessed with discernment to see things from God’s perspective as I’m led by the Holy Spirit. As an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ, I lack nothing emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, practically, or in any way. The Spirit of God indwells me as his sanctuary and makes known to me the joy of God’s presence. God provides me with perfect peace in spite of my circumstances or others’ attitudes or actions towards me. I can know joy that transcends pain. God communicates to me personally through his spirit and his Word, and I can be confident that even in the silences, he is always communing and will speak again in the right time and place. God’s timing is at work in all things, and I can trust him to arrive, provide, communicate, and change things at exactly the right time. I can trust God’s faithfulness. He’s always moved at exactly the right time in the past and will continue to do so in the future. I move my Father’s heart with joy when my spirit responds to the Holy Spirit and when I take on the character of Christ. My Father’s heart moves with joy when he ponders his plans, giftings, and blessings for my life.

I’m blessed with complete forgiveness for my sins through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. I have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and access to God the Father through the work of the Holy Spirit. When God looks at me, he sees only a sinless, perfect child. I have immediate, intimate access to God at any moment of my life. I’m a child of God, led by his Spirit and blessed with a mind-set of Sonship. I’m blessed with the gift of knowing peace with God, with myself, and with others through the work of Jesus Christ in eradicating my sins and repairing my brokenness. I’m loved by God with the same love he has for Jesus.

9. My bank account is full and my debts are paid. (Deut. 28:8; Luke 7:36-50)
10. This community is blessed because I’m an atmosphere shifter! (Deut. 28:8)
11. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. (Deut. 28:9; Rom. 3:22)
12. God’s glory is radiating from my life and impacting others with blessing! (Deut. 28:10)
13. Poverty has been destroyed in my life, and Prosperity is overflowing with abundance. (Deut. 28:11, 2 Cor. 8:9)
14. My land is flowing with milk and honey, rivers of oil and the blessing of plenty! (Deut. 26:9; Deut. 28:11, Job 29:6; Joel 2:26)
15. I am living in the Open Heaven! (Deut. 28:12; Mal. 3:10; Mark 1:10)
16. The rain of God’s Spirit is watering my gardens so that all of my seeds will prosper. (Deut. 28:12)
17. I am healthy, wealthy and a blessing to the nations! (Deut. 28:12)
18. God has placed me on top. I am an Overcomer and not an Underachiever. (Deut. 28:13)
19. The grace of God has made me a royal heir of the Kingdom blessings in Heaven! (Matt. 5:3)
20. My tears have been turned into pools of comfort. (Matt. 5:4)
21. The blessing of God is taking me places I never dreamed I could go! (Matt. 5:5)
22. I am filled with the blessings of righteousness. (Matt. 5:6)
23. As I show mercy, I receive the blessing of mercy for my needs! (Matt. 5:7)
24. My eyes are being opened to see God in new and supernatural ways. (Matt 5:8)
25. The oil of unity is filling my life with blessing after blessing! (Matt 5:9; Ps. 133)
26. I am at peace with God and I have the peace of God. (Matt. 5:9)
27. In times of trial I stand on the promises of God’s Word for me. (Matt 5:10)
28. I am blessed with kingdom revelation, kingdom favor and kingdom increase! (Matt 5:10; Ps. 5:12)
29. I have been given a crown of pure gold and the blessings of good things. (Ps. 21:3)
30. The joy of the Lord is my strength and it overflows from my life. (Ps. 21:6)
31. I have received the promise of the Spirit through faith. I am blessed! (Gal. 3:14)
