RE: addiction
God, I know you're a God who totally gets us and understands why we do the things we do, and I thank you for that. You accept us as we are and you love us the same no matter what we do, and that is amazing. I don't know anyone else like that. You understand addictions, why we have to find solace in other things when we feel like you're not there, or that voice that tells us this time it'll be ok, or God will forgive you after. Sometimes that voice isn't saying anything, it's just screaming for release of stress and pain and it drowns you out altogether. I'm sorry that we sometimes give in to those voices and make those decisions and choose other things to comfort us besides you. I'm sorry for every time i've chosen sin over you, for betraying your trust and for being a **** friend. I know you would never treat me the way I treat you sometimes, and that's why I hope to learn to love you as much as I can so that you get what you deserve from me for once. Thanks that even in our darkest hour, you're there in the background waiting for us to come back and give us what we're really needing, and fill that hole that we try to fill with other things.
I pray for this guy from Wales, that you would remind him of how much you love him every day in a new way. I thank you that he's chosen a life with you, which is the best anyone can choose. I want to ask you to be with him every step of the way, because Christian life ain't easy, especially when we've been through a lot and come with extra baggage. But thankfully your son Jesus loves caring for the ones down in the dumps and he came especially for them, and thank you that the broken are your specialty! Be with this Wales guy and show him how to overcome, like you overcame, let him find you in areas that he's lacking, and teach him the truth about how to see things with your eyes. The bigger the struggle, the greater the triumph, and the more glory to God when we are victorious.
Praise be to God forever, bless us and be with us.
Amen
