Feel like I'm losing my father

I feel so lost right now. My father is suffering from SEVERE short term memory loss caused by seizures. He's so depressed because of it. It has effected every aspect of his life. He lost his job because of his confusion. He's constantly talking about death now. He's lost a lot of weight. It looks like the spark of life that once danced in his eyes is gone now. His condition is so cruel, he says that he sometimes doesn't even know if he's alive. The doctors don't seem to have any concrete answers as to why these seizures even started. This is the biggest test he and our whole family has faced. It's really hard to keep the faith sometimes...I know that my father has served the Lord for over 20 years. The Lord saved him from alcoholism and cancer. I know the Lord is faithful. But, it's so hard to keep believing when it seems like you're watching your dad waste away (in his spirit) in front of you. I know that the Lord still lives in him. Whenever I remind him that we're believing for his healing, he'll smile and start to cry. But, because of his condition, sometimes he'll have really bad mood swings. And he'll use some strong profanity. It's hard seeing someone who's always been so strong in their faith slowly crumble. I know that nothing is impossible for the Lord. It's just breaking my heart while I'm waiting for that miracle. Please can someone agree with me in prayer that the Lord will demolish this mountain in our way? Please...

RE: Feel like I'm losing my father

Hi Butterflywings82,

I am so sorry about your dad! I never knew my dad but I had a great Gramps so I always felt loved. Please know that I will be praying for his health, peace, comfort, and patience. I will also be praying for your family and you. I know it's hard but please try to hang on! It's difficult to remember for me but I do know God is in control. Bless You Dearly, Cheryl

RE: Feel like I'm losing my father

Butterflywings, I am facing a similar problem with my Mom. She has a nerve problem that is affecting her mind. In the last year,I have watched her go from a strong Christian woman to a woman I sometimes do not see as my Mommy. She has lost so much weight. She also talks of death. It hurts so much to see her this way. I can't do anything for her. But God can.We must hold tight to Him. I will pray for your Daddy and if you would please pray for Mommy. We will lift up each other to God for strength and healing of our parents.-Tishlea
Precious Jesus, please help this one that has come seeking Your help. Lord, heal our parents of this trial that they are going through. Please Lord, send them comfort. Let them feel Your Spirit again. Lord, guide us children to do what You would have us to do. Lord, it hurts to see our parents this way. Please heal them.In this I ask Jesus,in Your name.Amen. Psalm 121:1 & 2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.Bless
