RE: Prayers for my Suicidal friend **URGENT NEED OF PRAYERS!
Lord, I pray that this woman realizes that life is a gift. It may get better as she goes on, but it can't get better if she just ends it. She needs to fight against that. Help her, Lord, to realize that by taking the easy way out she is not helping herself!
I like to think of life as a glass. You can either view it as half empty or half full, or rather 50% full. But it can't get -50% full. There is no negative percentage to life. So even if it's as bad as it gets, nothing in life is worse than not having it at all. Even the smallest joy is something you then wouldn't have. Even in the darkest of times, after all, she still has friends like you, right? Friends who care about her. That little bit of love, that light that helps her get through those days, push through them? <aybe a friend will say a funny thing and she'll laugh a little. That's a simple joy she WON'T HAVE if she ends it. So I hope she remembers that nothing bad in life is a bad as not having it, not having those little joys that fill up that glass a little. And with prayer, it can only get better. The glass can only fill up.
I also hope you put your friend on some kind of watch. Make sure she has people around her to make sure she DOESN'T take this kind of action. To leave her alone at this point would be the worst thing! Also, maybe that person being around continuously, that love, will help her.
Even if it requires sacrifice, leaving work, things you don't think you can do, this is a person's life at stake here. That's what's more important than anything. Get her to a hospital, if she will go, where they will watch after her. Or at least make her promise, if she has to be alone for a short time, that she will hold off on anything drastic for that short time. Remind her that you love her and you don't want her to go, it would hurt you. That can be a strong motivator, and that love for you can remind her what's worth living for.
Sorry, I just get so worked up because I want to make sure I'm not not saying anything that could help.
