Please pray for us. I am the pastor of a small church. Our people are few in number but love the Lord, His Word, and each other. Our church’s offerings have been low for several months. More and more often, there is not enough to pay the bills and my salary too, so my family and I do without. I work on tractors to try to get extra money, but no sooner than it comes in, it is gone. This is the second week in a row that there wasn’t enough for me to get paid. Our church’s water and electric bills are due this week, and there is not enough to pay them.
Today is my wife’s birthday, and I don’t even have enough money to buy her a birthday card. This Friday, our daughter, who has spent the last six years working her way through college, has to have gall bladder surgery. Saturday, she will graduate - they’re going to roll her through in a wheelchair. We won’t be there for either event - we don’t have the money to buy the gas to get there.
My heart is so heavy about all of this - we love the Lord, we strive to serve Him in all we do, and yet for all that, here we are, unable to pay our bills, much less have even a small amount for birthdays, much less Christmas.
Please pray for our church - that God would send us souls for Jesus’ sake, that they will grow in their love and service for Him, and that He will provide for our small church so that we don’t have to shut down.
Please pray for my family - they have been so understanding throughout these difficulties, but their faith is being taxed to the limit.
Finally, please pray for me - I am having such a hard time with all of this. I try to have a positive outlook about things, but when you can’t even get your wife a birthday card because you haven’t been paid in two weeks and Christmas is staring you in the face and you have nothing to be able to get your kids and grandchildren, it’s almost more than I can bear. I’m just about to the point of total despair - please pray for me!
Thank you for understanding and interceding on our behalf during this difficult time.
Sorrowing,
Todd
