It seems that my faith sways alot these days, but when faced with such a devastating situation, as the one my family is in right now, I can't help but be filled with feelings of anger and hatred. My husband has been struggling with alcoholism since before we began dating seven years ago. I knew he had this problem from the start, but I fell so deeply in love with the sober version of him, that I decided to accept his illness as a part of him, and hope that he would eventually grow out of it. We now have two beautiful children, and should be living together as a family, but his drinking has gotten him into so much trouble legally, that the kids and I were forced to move in with my sister until his treatment counselor and parole officer feel that he is able to be reunited with us. This is especially upsetting to us, and our families, because he has never once hurt me, or our children, no matter how much alcohol he has consumed. My husband and I are both struggling with severe depression as we are trying so hard to cope with such a big change in our life, and we worry that this whole thing may have a negative affect on our babies. I'm asking the Lord to grant us strength to persevere, and guide us through such a dark and difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated, and very comforting.
