Career and resentment

Really just want a 9 to 5 type of career to be financially independent, I'm 49, getting divorced and have and never had real career only low paying jobs. Went from family to husband's home. Mom moved in to help but food and hubby still paying mortgage and utilities but don't want to depend or can't depend on this. My husband owns house next door and lives with girlfriend, think he wants this house too in divorce, I can't afford mortgage or repairs with no career. Can't move with bad credit and need decent apartment for kids to live in same school or they won't move, he wins of course. No car either. I don't know what to do with my life, I'm not young either. I feel hopeless and angry. Resentful that my parents spoiled us, never punished us for bad stuff and never made us do anything, never taught us how to be independent. I'm average, not retarded nor a brain so I wonder if I could have a career. I just want to be free and take care of my kids and me and maybe gave a car to get around in. I've been praying for last three years for God to give me some direction as to what to do but nothing is happening. I really don't have much help from others in this path, my mom is old and a little on slow side intellectually, she thinks people can actually live on minimum wage, she doesn't understand the world today. I don't even know how I can get a minimum wage job with bad buses, work full time with kids day and night and weekends, never see them and I haven't bought any new clothes, just simple things like jeans and tops for two or three years. Husband wouldn't give me 500 from our joint tax return to buy some new things or winter coat, he tells me I have to ask his girlfriend since she handles the bills. I don't trust him for future. I need real help. Church doesn't help either. I don't know what to do. Love my mom but living with my mom aty age isn't fun and we sometimes get on each other's nerves. I wish God cwould help me.

RE: Career and resentment

Go back to school and learn a career, you can do it at night or during the day. Some even have classes on the weekends like on Saturdays. I did it when I was alone with two small kids to support them and myself. You at least have your mother helping you by sitting for them, I had to find neighbors to help me until I made it. I also was working at a low paying job, and going to school at night. With God's help, and your cooperation, and willing to work hard, you can still make it. You are not that old, so stop wasting your life away, nobody is going to do it for you, but you yourself. Get off that pity wagon and start to face how real life is. We all have our struggles one way or another.
Lord direct this woman to what she has to do to be able to find that career she so much want. Have your perfect will be done in her life and her children, also bless her mother who is helping her, may she appreciate her and stop resenting her mother's help. No matter how hard it is right now, she is blessed to have her mother alive and helping her. In Jesus name I pray amen.
