My name is Mary I had my daughter at a young age (17). Her father and I did not work out and it has been a rough and rocky road ever since we split up. He has tried to make it as hard as possible for me to see my daughter since taking her back to Ohio in 2012. I had joint custody and he wouldn't let her come out to AZ where I live. To even get visitation like I should rightfully have, I had to bring the issue to the attention of the courts. I was gracious enough to have a relative help me with a retainer fee for an attorney to represent me during this custody battle. However, the lawyer was unprofessional and money hungry. He would forget important deadlines, and would put me on hold every chance he got during a phone conversation. He really took advantage of me. He advised me to reach an agreement with my daughters father. I did so immediately. He continued to work on my case and rack up debt after I reached the agreement. Effectively producing a lawyer bill that I couldn't afford. He knew I was poor when he took on the case. He essentially charged me about $5000 to do NOTHING. I am being threatened with wage garnishments and lawsuits. I have no money to hire another attorney to fight this one's unjust fees. So I'm putting every ounce of pride aside to ask for help from people. It hurts me very deeply to even put myself on display like this. It hurts even more to ask help from people who are not even involved. But I honestly dont know what to do anymore. I've tried dealing with it myself and am only digging my hole deeper. The law firm is willing to take payments, however they want $400/month. I only make $800 at my job. If I could get a credit card, I would just charge the $3208 that I owe the attorney. I've got nowhere else to turn. If you could find it in your heart to donate any amount, big or small, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm sorry for asking. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Also ours, everyone passing by. help us be faithful in little things from the start, that we may be in big things also. help us be thankful even as we ask, for it is so hard to be so when things do not seem to go our way. Forgive us and help us align to Your will.
