I need him on my journey

I have battled obesity most of my life. I have yo-yo dieted my entire life. I have had some success along the way, but never managed to keep the weight off permanently. I am at a point in my life where my health is beginning to suffer. My quality of life is also suffering. I miss out on activities because of my weight. Most importantly, my weight is interfering with my goal of becoming a wife and mother. I very badly want to be a wife and mother. I really want to have a baby; however, I don't want to have a baby until I can take care of myself and finally get control of my weight. I am 36 years old now, and I have been battling this on my own since 14 years old. It is time....I realize I can't do this alone....I need him by my side on this journey.

Please pray for me. Please pray for my weight loss success. Please pray that my dream of becoming a wife and mother will be actualized. Most importantly, please pray that god will walk this path with me and help guide me in the right direction, help me be successful and achieve my goals.

RE: I need him on my journey

Dear Lisa
What really attracts godly men, and should be foundational to a Christian marriage is love and care , from a meek and beautiful spirit that is of God. Please do not loose heart! God has created you just the way He wanted, for fulfilling HIS purposes. Let me assure you that may many are fond of plump ladies, even myself. I fail to see how your weight interfere with the goal of becoming a mother and a wife.
Smile
Love,
Your friend in Christ

I have a good, godly man. I just let my weight get in the way. I really want to have this obstacle under control, before I move on to this stage of my life.

If he loves you, He will love you just the way you are!
A fleshly attraction will pass away like water...so take heed to the true spiritual understanding, patience, faith, kindness!

It's absolutely not him. It's me. It's my burden. I need to be healthy and active, before I feel I can be a good wife and mother. He loves me for me.

RE: I need him on my journey

lisalynn, This is something you need to do for YOURSELF with God's help. You need to do it for your mental and physical being. My stepdaughter was in the same boat as you are about 5 years ago. She weighed over 200 lbs. and was childless, spent thousands on fertility treatments that failed seven times. We all began to pray and she also felt that her solution was to lose weight and start exercising. She went first to the doctor, which is what you need to do, and had a complete checkup. She was put on thyroid medication and metformin and she began to follow a low-carb diet. She lost down to about 140 lbs. and as she is kind of tall anyway, looks thin and fantastic. Then the Lord helped her to conceive and she had a beautiful healthy baby girl. She has never gained back the weight but she does still take her medicine and exercises. I hope this encourages you because God is no respector of persons and what He did for her, He will do for you. So, go to your doctor and ask him about the thyroid test and some other tests, to determine what you need and never lose hope. God bless you!

RE: I need him on my journey

I diet and exercise. I do have a thyroid disorder, and I am being monitored for it. I am working hard at it. Always have...probably eat begged than most...weight loss is just more difficult for me than most...even eating 800 calories...low carbon etc...I tend to lose around 5 pounds and it stalls...but then more easily gain again if I do eat, like on holidays... I just feel that I need some faith and have him by my side while I keep going.
