Need Guidance and Letting Go
I am recently out of a relationship where I was trying to "save" the other person from her old ways (drug use and dealing, promiscuity, prostitution). She came from a broken home with parents who controlled and manipulated her, and has always surrounded herself with people who reinforce her negative lifestyle and keep her in a cycle of self-destruction. She wanted a better life and to change. She stopped dealing drugs and committed herself to openness and honesty in our relationship. We began planning a life together (trips, talks of starting a family, etc.), and then she started to grow more distant. Eventually, I found out she had been spending nights with other men, and when I tried to confront her she blamed me saying that I was checking up on her and she could no longer trust me. We haven't spoken in nearly a month. While we never wed, I felt like she was "the one" for me. I had dedicated my life to her, and had seen an amazing future.
Please pray for the Lord to give me guidance and the wisdom to understand His plan. I struggle with letting her go because she had put so much trust in me, and a part of me feels like I failed her (even though deep down I know this isn't true). We are all broken and unworthy, and only through Jesus Christ can we be saved. Pray that I can give her over to God so she no longer occupies my every thought.

RE: Need Guidance and Letting Go
Dear Lord,
The pain of rejection is especially harsh when we know that the one we once loved is not saved and is overcome with a life of sin. It hurts worse that we cannot help them in any way and almost feels as though we must stand by idily while watching them suffer. However, we know that You are still God and that You can still provide. You make the impossible possible and when these people are led out of our life You can still speak to them. I pray that You would send someone to this woman to speak to her and to show her Your goodness. I pray that her need of salvation would be revealed to her and that she would turn to You. I pray that You would give her an open heart and spirit to be receptive of You so that her life may be given over to Your leadership and Your goodness. I also pray for the man in this situation. I know what it's like to be in a similar situation, but You know what is best. You have someone so perfect and wonderful for him that the love he had for this woman (although not forgotten) will pale in comparison. I pray that You would bring the person he is meant to be with into his life and show him that she is truly sent by You. Give him Your guidence and wisdom so that he would not end up with anyone else either than her.
We thank You and praise You for all that You do. In Christ's name I pray. Amen.
