help my husband to understand
I have been married over 30 years to a good Christian man. I have always jumped in and helped him with whatever I could in life - I tried to be a good helpmeet. He got really used to giving me things to do and slowly I began to take on more than I should have. Recently I hit some kind of a limit inside and I knew that if I kept on taking more and more jobs for him I was going to give out. I felt it was irresponsible to just keep on saying yes and not let him know that I was maxing out. Through many of the years, Lord was working in my heart just to honor the Lord and trust and Him with my time. Have that servant heart and worship the Lord with whatever my hand found to do. I do not think I did anything wrong by having that servant heart, but it really hurts my husbands feelings if I have to say no when he needs me to do something he feels he cannot do. I either need a special dispensation of grace to do these extra phone calls, etc., or I need my husband to find a different solution other than asking me to do all the extra things he feels he cannot do. Today I tried to explain all this to him. He is discouraged now and hurt. He feels it as a lack of support on my part, but he forgot I am still doing all of the those other things he already gave me to before. It just feels like I am starting to not be able to keep up and not doing a very good job because it is too much for one person to do. There is no possible way he can see this. I love him so much and I just really need the Lord to intervene for me and help him to have his eyes opened and not feel bad or guilty, just honestly and rightly aware of what is happening. I need the right answer even if it means me changing and having more grace. Please pray with me that order would come back into my life and I would have the right words to say and the right attitude. We need healing and order and balance. I need to know what to do. In Jesus Name. Amen.
