My name is Lori and I am going through a very difficult time. I am 17 and have had a relationship w/ my boyfriend for almost 3 years. We started out great and happy but my parents oppose my relationship and their actions have turned my relationship into something ugly. I guess you could say that love has kept my boyfriend and I together but now my boyfriend is sick of my parents. They control me but I can't do anything about it because I'm not the kind of girl that rebells against her parents. My boyfriend wants to marry me at 18 but I don't want to because I'm much too young. My boyfriend is 3 years older than me& he is a great guy. I love him and don't want to lose him, but I also dont want to sin against God by disobeying my parents. I have done so much to make my parents see that I am growing.I got out of High School to join a program with the university here where I live and am finishing my junior& senior year in college. When I graduate, I'm going to graduate with my High School diploma and my associates degree. I cleaned my whole house and cooked so they could eat when they got home from work and I even did my mom's nails for her. I don't know what to do anymore. Lori, to God be the glory. I am also praying that I don't loose the man I love so I know the feeling. We both have to pray that God's will is done and trust that He will do what is best for us, as He always has. Congratulations on your hard work and getting your HS and Associates Degree at the same time! Impressive. I pray that The Lord will touch your Parents hearts and leads them to doing His will in this situation and I pray for your bf to be patient. Stay obedient to your Parents, as you have been doing.
