breaking self-harm habit

I'm trying to break the habit of picking my fingers, was a bit miffed to be told a lifetime habit was actually selfharm Icon_sad especially as it came up when being assessed for depression/breakdown resulting from stress of moving and being ill so much recently reacting seriously badly with ME neurology. Which is much better thanks to happy pills & prayerSmile But in sharing what the dr said I couldn't miss out the selfharm bit...

I've agreed with my (rather alarmed) pastor that I'll get some professional help and am waiting for a counsellor, who is also a Christian, to agree to have her contact details passed to me. Which inevitably means I'll have to talk about being abused. I've got a 'fidget toy' when I find I'm doing it during the day but I'm also doing it in my sleep.

So there it is. It needs some divine intervention as breaking a life time habit, whilst trying to improve mobility enough to lose the walking frame, whilst writing an MA theology dissertation, whilst being a trustee/director of several charities, let alone the church secretary is rather a big ask! So any prayer would be appreciated Bless
