I truly understand the verse in the Bible, as though something strange were happening to you... 1 Peter 4:12
I am father to a new daughter. She is born on the 14th of Jan. My wife and I are very happy to have her. However we fear that she will be taken from us soon.
Her parents have convinced everyone that we are unfit parents. Even so far as to convince the Church we attended to try to destroy our marriage. The Church last May, cornered my wife in the washroom and told her if she did not leave her husband that they would call government services and have her children taken away. On that day they would not allow me to see my wife and took her to a womans shelter. I had no idea what was going on, as the Church called my work, and convinced my boss to fire me. Soon after my wife called me and tried to come back to me. I was arrested and jailed for a week, and my wife was forced to make a statement against me alleging violence against her.
Some how her parents convinced the government services to give them custody of our twin 6 month old girls and our 8 year old son. My wife had described to me in the past on many occasions that she suffered physical and mental abuse from her parents. from the age of 13 she tried to run away many times. Now I am powerless as my children are in there care.
My wife when she lost the children, thought deeply about what they convinced her to say about me, and wrote many letters to the police, the lawyers, judges. No one would listen to her when finally she was trying to get the truth out. Since I could not affort a lawyer, I had to rely on a public defender who finally got all the charges thrown out 7 months later. My wife and I reunited, immediately, and she told me what they had done to her. For me it was 7 months of asking why all this was and is happening.
Now our new born daughter will get out of the hopital tomorrow and we so much do not want her to go to that abusive home as well. We are powerless and broke. Our next day in court in respect of our other 3 children does not happen until august. We have no hope to getting them back even though neither of us have ever been accused of hurting harming or neglecting them in any way. Her father's infulence is huge. He calls himself a Christian, and has many powerful friends in churches and government places.
My wife and I are hurt and broken. But we have a saying with our daughter that was just born. Every day with her is a gift. We do not understand, nor pretend to, as to why all of this is happening when we always have worked for God. My wife says it was that she loved God so much, that she wanted to honor God by sticking by her husband. But now everyone is punishing her belief about marriage.
We cannot attend church anymore because of her fathers influence on them. We feel like the only Christians left in the world at times. its has been 224 days since our family was last together. My whole life I have attended church, Except for the past 224 days.
The government agencies tell my wife to leave me. She carries guilt with her that somehow this was her fault. I remind her many times that none of it is.
We accept if God allows them to take our daughter from us. We accept if God allows them to take our other children away from us forever. Because we both trust God and knows that He has something big planned for us. Still it hurts so deeply....
