Struggling With My Faith

Hello,
I've sent in a few prayer requests to this forum. I'm really struggling with my faith right now. I've always felt very out of place as a Christian. I have never really felt like I "belonged" within the Christian community. I have had a lot of bad experiences with other Christians and in different churches. I mentioned before that I struggled in the past with experimenting with witchcraft and the occult. One of the reasons why it was so easy for me to turn away from my faith was because I have never really felt like I fit in to this community. I have always felt unwanted. I have always felt unliked. I have always felt completely out of place. I am currently going through a very difficult period in my life. That couple with the amount of spiritual warfare that I have gone through is really weighing down on me. I have asked so many people to pray for me and I feel like those prayers are working. I feel so close to God. I feel as if my relationship with Jesus has turned back to what it once was, long ago, before I ever turned from Him. But now that I have been healed from the lifestyle that I was previously involved in, those old struggles are beginning to creep back up. I love God so much. I love Jesus. I love being a Christian. I love being in God's presence. But I do not feel like I belong within the Christian community. I'm sorry that this prayer request focuses so much on "feelings". That's just the only word that I can use to describe what I am experiencing emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Please pray for me.

RE: Struggling With My Faith

Lord have this child of yours feel your love so strong in their life, and help them to remember they are now washed by the blood of Christ. They are forgiven from all they have done that was not acceptable to you, now help them to forgive them self. Give them the strength to look forward and not backward, to keep on loving you and never again go back to that kind of life. May they see that Christians is all who believe in you and have repented and been washed in the blood of Christ. But we do not worship a group of people, a building, nor a per say religion, we worship the all mighty God our Lord and Savior, for he was the only one who died on the cross and suffered so much for our sins, not those other things. Too many Christians are giving us true believers a bad name, but it is you Lord who we serve not them. Help us to keep our eyes only on you and not on them. Help this struggling child of yours with their faith on you Jesus. I pray in the merciful and loving name of Jesus Christ our only Lord and Savior. Amen!

RE: Struggling With My Faith

I understand how you feel. I do love worship in a public building with other Christians but I find it difficult to spend time afterwards having coffee etc, as I have that feeling also of not really being able to relax and fit in, I have also been hurt in church but honestly I am sure I may have hurt others too as we are all sinners, But I agree with guest that we must only worship Jesus and I think I have had a weakness for seeking others approval and I ask God to set me free of this, This need to be approved of in the world I carried over to the Christian community. Though we are all united in Jesus we all have our own particular path to go and if you could just focus on this- it is at the end of the day between you and God. I would try to worship with other Christians as it can be so uplifting for the week ahead but as far as socializing with them etc, just pray about it and take baby steps and ask God to set you free of whatever is behind it- could be a sense of guilt that you need to be free of or perhaps something needs to be straightened out between you and God- do you really know how much You are loved by the Lord Jesus Christ? God loves us all equally so you cannot possibly be inferior. And we have all fallen short. Lately I have been overwhelmed with memories of past sins- we all have a history and if we say we don't it is the sin of self-righteousness. But we have the blood of Jesus. He has our back. He is fighting for us because He wants the victory and He already has it.

Lord set this guest free- send breakthrough- deliverance from these sneaky deceptions of Satan who try to bring us down.
Give the peace that surpasses all understanding and a renewed sense of assurance in You. Let this guest find renewed purpose and focus on that and be free of need for others approval. And with increased dependence on You perhaps this will give the freedom to have a healthy friendship with another Christian or two without any pressure
Thank you Lord that this guest has reached out for prayer

RE: Struggling With My Faith

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ be encouraged and of good faith my family of faith. The Lord knows we sometimes struggle with faith and even finding our place in the family of God but remember our value in God's loving eyes is not dependent on feelings or perceptions of how others may perceive us. It is however based on the eternal love of our Father and the finished work of Jesus on the cross of Cavalry. Psalm 27:10 "Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me." 1 John 3.1 - "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him." Just remember my dear ones that our value and position in the family of God isn't determined by any person but it's entirely in the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember also that when the Lord was among us on Earth he dearly loved His disciples and considered them dear and precious friends but they all disappointed and let Him down at times. He dearly loved the fellowship He had with them but there were times when He would withdraw Himself from them for for times of one on one fellowship with the Father. All people will fail us from time to time, even our brothers and sister of faith, but God never fails or forsakes us ever my dear ones. Just remember our brothers and sisters in the faith struggle and stumble as well all do. Seek fellowship out with them for this is a good and pleasant thing in the sight of God but always remember our value and acceptance isn't found in man but rather in the Living Son of God who loved us and died for each and every on of us. Always remember my dear friends in the Lord, Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" One last thing my precious ones in the faith, if we are ever tempted to think God has forgotten about us or somehow given up on us, remember these true and faithful words and let them sink in, Ephesians 1:4 "Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love." Before He ever spoke the world into existence He desired each of us to be with Him for all of eternity!!!! Amazing!!! Be encouraged my dear friends in Christ and hold on all the tighter to Him no matter how we feel or even how others look at us. The only opinion that natters is His and He made it abundantly clear how much he loves us on Calvary's lonely hill on that fateful day long long ago.

Hi, friend. Just said a prayer for you that the Lord will surround you with His loving presence and prove His faithfulness in your life. May God prove His faithfulness in all the situations you mentioned.
