The word for dog in Hebrew is Kelev, meaning "from the heart." Isn't it interesting that in Lashon HaKodesh (the Holy Tongue) that this would be the meaning for dog? I am not here to argue with "Christians" but only a person that has really loved a dog can understand this meaning and the fact that Elohim (God) created dogs, means that He understands our love for them. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with praying for, or asking for prayer for a dog just as one would for a human being. Of course, human beings come first, but I agree with the poster who said that when one lacks compassion for animals, one also lacks compassion for humans.

Did God create dog first? Didn't Jesus said that God takes care of the birds. In Matthew 6:26 - look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? I grew up with dogs all my life and right now we have two also. I have many dogs died while growing up and many tears I have shed of their departing. I love dogs but I don't put them over God. I didn't go to the prayer sites and ask them to pray for my dying dog. If you have faith why don't you pray and ask the Father to keep your dog alive forever. It is the reverse really, when one is so overly compassionate with animals, they are less compassionate to humans who are suffering. I've seen it and witness it. It is demonic when you love your dog more than human. Show me a scripture in the Bible and prove me wrong and prove God is wrong where he said we should love our dog like humans. Study the Bible first before you jump into agreeing someone who is lacking the knowledge of the Word of God. You stated Kelev meaning from the heart, why didn't you write what Elohim means. Since you don't know, I will tell you: Elohim is the Name of God as the Creator and Judge of the universe (Genesis 1:1-24a).

The Holy One, Blessed be He, said to those, You want to know my name? I am called according to my actions. When I judge the creatures I am Elohim, and when I have mercy with My world, I am name YHVH (Ex R. 3:6)

You are an extremely ANGRY person who has to have the last word on things. How do you know that I don't know what Elohim means? Do you speak Hebrew? I do. I never said anywhere in my post that I do not value humans. In fact, I said I do value humans more than animals. I was just pointing out that it is not wrong to pray for a pet or to ask prayer for a pet. You have a right to your opinion but so do I and you do not have the right to attack me and twist my words to mean something that they don't. You are a very hateful person who will never win anyone to whatever god you are following.

I won many to the Lord. How many have you witnessed? I have a very calm spirit but I am bold in the Lord. Have you been physically persecuted because of your faith? NO, I don't think so. I stand boldly and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I commune with the Holy Spirit everyday for His instructions for the day. I am trying to shake you where your faith is. Here you are still fighting against me about a dog not standing and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus. I speak many tongues including, English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Hebrew, Yiddish, Aramaic, Arabic, Latin and many other dialecsts from small countries. God the Father gifted me with speaking in heavenly tongue and the tongues of many languages.

Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Stop being right because only Jesus is right. I don't have an angry spirit like you but I am humble in the Lord. Why don't you join me in serving the poor and the needy from around the world in Jesus' name.

As the original poster of this prayer request I would kindly like to ask fo the entire thread to be removed. the dog died, it is over, look at the date this was originally posted! I came here in a time of need. I am sorry I offended some by my request, I am sorry my sadness at that time is causing so much bitterness to come forward. Off topic I beg forgiveness for seeking comfort for what some would seem a trivial matter. My faith is BIG my GOD is BIG I have a wonderful and awesome Lord, he was with me as i sat at my mothers bedside while she died, he with me during dread disease, he loved me when i was happy when i was sad . I thank him for my health my children for dirty dishes for dogs for hot running water. Life is made of moments of all types, and He is there in all of them. Even this one right now

I am so sorry for the loss of your dog! How cruel people can be. I have two dogs, one I have had since she was 8 weeks (now 14 months) and the other we rescued from an abusive owner. I love my dogs and pray for their health in my prayers at night. They are God's creatures and deserve love too. I am sure you showered your little dog with love.
