Struggling Family
Please pray for my husband who has been suffering from severe depression. His father died a week ago on this past Thursday and he has spiraled down even further. His mother has Altzheimer's and is in a nursing home. He has taken refuge if you will in his parent's home tonight saying he finds comfort there and when he's there he never wants to leave. So now my sons (ages 21 and 16) and I are trying to give him space as he grieves. Please pray for all of us in this situation.

RE: Struggling Family
Father, I pray for Guest's husband and others in his circle of family and friends who are grieving for the lost of her husband's father. He is hurting for many reasons, and I ask You to help him through this season of loss. I reach out to You, the Father of compassion and the Source of every comfort, asking You to touch Guest's husband right now with Your unfailing love and kindness. Be their God who comforts them as they're going through their struggles, and bring them through the tough things ahead. Come alongside them in their pain, and strengthen them so they'll one day be able to help others who face the same struggles. (2 Corinthians 1:3–4; Psalm 33:22; 1 Samuel 20:14a) You're close to people whose hearts are breaking, those who are discouraged and have given up hope. May You who see their troubles and grief respond when they cry out. (Psalm 34:18; 10:14a, 17) When they're hurting, help them find their joy in You, for it's Your joy that will be their strength. Help them to trust You as their God of hope. Fill them with Your joy, peace, and hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Help them experience the love, joy, and peace that are the results of His life in them, no matter what they're going through. (Nehemiah 8:10b; Romans 15:13; Galatians 5:22) May they sense Your presence in this hour of need. In Jesus' name, Amen.

RE: Struggling Family
Thank you for your prayers. A couple of week ago before his Dad died he was going to move in with his Dad he left and came back 3 hrs later stating that he couldn't leave his family and couldn't be like (name of his former best friend). I am really struggling today so I would appreciate your prayers. He didn't call at all yesterday and I certainly hope he's not using his grief as a way to "legitimize" in his mind leaving his family. He's seeing a counselor and supposedly the counselor told him its ok to take time for himself right now. In the past, when he's spent time alone he typically goes negative and focuses on all the bad in his life etc.
Update: I broke down and called my husband this morning. He's asked me to meet him after work at his parents house so we can talk - between 5:30 and 6 pm Central time. Please keep me in your prayers today and especially at the meeting time. Pray that the Lord will be with us and will guide my words and actions. Thank you!
