My wife has filed for divorce
I offer up to the Lord my marriage covenant and lay it at His feet. I ask for grace and mercy that I do not deserve. I know that the lord knows all that has transpired and He knows of the difficulty both my wife and I are going through. I am guilty of being unfaithful. And I ask for forgiveness from the Lord. It is not that I have anger for my wife as we have both contributed to the failing of this marriage. The Lord knows all transgressions. What I do is come before Him in humbleness. I ask for distinct direction in this matter knowing that His solution is the best solution. I ask that, if it be His will, that He restore this marriage. I ask that I be molded into the husband I am to be as best represented by God's ways. I ask too that her heart be softened and allow us to talk as we have not talked about this in a fair and equal manner. That both of us look towards ourselves and towards each other if we are to even attempt to reconcile even though I have been served with divorce papers. I do not take my sin lightly. But I do fault us both for not trying along the way. We should have stopped and taken time to listen to each other. The daily things be put aside and we communicate our issues. I ask for forgiveness for I do not wear this badge that I now carry, "affair", lightly. And no, I am not proud. I let down my best friend to whom I had a covenant with. I told her I would never stray. And I failed my God and Savior too. Oh Lord in heaven, hear my words. For I cry out to you in this time of shame that I have brought upon myself, my wife, and my poor witness. Forgive me O' Lord for my transgressions and heal my marriage. In the name of Christ Jesus I pray.
