My ex is not saved and i am. We dated for a year until he felt that he cannot commit himself. I did not ask him to marry me, move in with me or have a child with me. He suddenly felt that he cannot trust me and is not even willing to try and build the trust. I'm not sure what his fear is but all I know is that it has a lot to do with his past. I love him and would like to be his future. He has a lot of bad habbits and i would like to help him walk away from them. I know that deep down he loves me, the only problem is that he has been hurt before and is not willing to go through the same pain again.

I pray that he allows himself to love me and to completely trust me. I pray that he makes peace with his past and let all that happen go. I pray that the good Lord cleanses his heart, wipes away the fear, teaches him to trust. I pray that he loves me unconditionally as i do and that he respects me and believes in us. I know everything is possible with God. Most of all I would like to be his support system, direct him to God (church), expose him to true affection and remind him of his worth on a daily basis.

Father, please show this young woman the answers to her questions...why the sudden change in his behavior and why he is pulling away. Remind her of your word Father..."he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does." (James 1:8) A man who does not know his God cannot know himself and therefore he will vacillate back and forth not only in relationships but in many other things throughout life. His trust cannot be totally gained until he knows you because he does not trust himself. Father...show her that your desire is to see us content in our lives and because of that you tell us that we should not be unequally yoked. Father if it be in your will, help her to put her personal feelings for this man aside for now and spend time instead praying for his salvation and when interacting with him witnessing quietly and gently to him. While free will must reign and it must be his choice...this would be the most loving thing she could do for him at this time. I pray that you would mend her heart and draw her close to you that you might minister to her and give her direction for her life. In Jesus name...Amen!
