Healing Heartbreak - jlgianne - 12-21-2008 12:19 PM I recently posted a prayer request about my ex-boyfriend who is Muslim and was engaged to be married, with the wedding scheduled for this past week. I shared how much we loved each other despite his engagement and that he was simply going through with the marriage because he believes he needs to get married to complete his religion and that he did not have any romantic type feelings for the girl he was going to marry. Even up to a day before his wedding, he shared with me that he had a terrible feeling about the whole thing and that he loved me and missed me so much. He went through with the wedding on Thursday night and is now married. I had begged him not to do it, but all the while I knew that I could not offer a solution to our situation if he called it off because I would not convert to Islam. It put us in a lose-lose situation, and I put all of my hope in believing that he still might become a Christian right before his wedding. I was praying for that to happen so desperately, but it never happened. In the 4 1/2 years I prayed for him, he never became a Christian. I am so devastated by this--truly beyond words or explaining. I have a great sense of loss and sadness and cannot imagine my life without him. He has been a major part of my life for so many years, and the thought of not having him in it anymore and the thought of him being married to another woman just kills me inside. Please pray that I accept that this was God's will for my life and that I don't question it. Please pray that my emotional wounds heal quickly and that God breaks the tie between me and this man, "S," so that I can finally let him go and move on. Please pray that I trust God in this situation and believe that he has good things in store for my future and that God knows what's ultimately best for me. Please also pray for "S" to become a Christian, along with his whole family, since I desire to see him come to know the Lord even though we are not together. Thank you for your prayers! Jessica RE: Healing Heartbreak - tjjohnson - 12-21-2008 05:15 PM Dear Lord Please show this lady that you have a plan for us all and in time she will she that plan. Show her that you are there to ease her pain and her suffering will ease over time and she needs to keep you near and keep her faith in you strong. In your name I pray Amen |
