Praying the ten commandments. - yeshuaboy - 05-06-2014 06:21 AM El Shaddai, El Elyon Adonai, Father of our hope and freedom, You asked us to etch Your commands in our memories and affections, and to do the same for our children, we pray today for ourselves, for all who are close to us, and for all believers. Show us, Eternal One, what it really means to fear You and keep Your Laws. We want to honor You and receive the best life has to offer. May no other loyalties or affections take Your place in our hearts no other priority, hobby, ambition, possesion or person. We belong to only You! Loving and Merciful Father, please help us to resist any substitute objects of worship, idols that easily slip in, and help us to turn away from all false beliefs. Keep us from any pursuit no matter how worthy that becomes an end in itself. We want to hold You in awe and respect, Eternal One. In this casually profane world, keep us sensitive about the sacredness of Your names. Elohim of Redemption and Restoration, please enable us to observe the Sabbath day and keep it holy. May we show lifelong respect for the elderly, especially our our parents. Help us to raise our children to respect and obey us their main source for learning about life and godliness. Help us understand and guard the sanctity of all human life. May we never, even in our thoughts, surrender to hate, violence, or taking revenge. Father of Mercies and Elohim of All comfort. May we build our marriages on integrity, purity, faithfulness, and loyalty. Protect us from the traps of pornography, promiscuity, and creeping disrespect. Show us new ways to honor marriage as a sacred, lifelong commitment. Teach us to value honesty in the little and large issues, to respect the belongings of others, and to trust You to provide for our needs. Abba Father, please instill in us a sincere dedication to being loyal and truthful, even under pressure. Teach us to hate gossip and criticism. Help us never to measure our happiness by the lives or possessions of others. Instead, may we learn to be content with what You give and happy when others prosper. Eternal One, thank You for Your promise to bless us if we follow these laws. We want Your best to be the measure of our lives . Abba Father, we pray for the honor of Your Name through the love and work of Your Son, Yeshua, the Messiah, the Good Shepherd who is taking care of His sheep, knowing each by name, the Way, the Truth and the Life. Amen, halleluyah. |
