Fear in a New Job. - diannacsaky - 03-29-2014 07:38 PM Just would like to ask for prayer.. I've sent previous prayer requests regarding a job I was in. I worked at one company for 3 years and left because of the work hours. I worked at another company which I liked the work but the hours were worse than the first company. I was there for three years when that company was sold and my job moved to another state. Thankfully, I took another job in June '13 but it was horrible. I worked 10 hour days and 5 hours on Sunday's from almost June to January. I felt depressed and felt like my whole life revolved around my job because by the time I left work, I didn't want to do anything else. I worked, came home, worked around my home, went to church on Sunday and did it all again. I've been angry and resentful but I kept praying that God would "rescue me". I even prayed a prayer that was only between God and I. I prayed a prayer that I thought would be impossible for God. I prayed that the next job I took (because I felt like I kept taking jobs that maybe God wasn't in, which was why each job was worse than the first) that I would know it was from Him if I didn't even have to interview for it. That it would just be "given to me". Then I forgot about the prayer. I just kept reading scripture about "trusting God" and "having faith". For the first time in as long as I can remember I finally said to myself that God was my provider, not my job and that I would wait for Him to rescue me. About a month later coming out of work, I saw a phone number on my cell phone w/a voice mail I had never seen before. I checked the message and it was a boss from about three jobs ago. She left the company where we previously worked together and saw my resume come in and asked me to call her so I did. She then told me that she was working for this company and they brought a new company and she was hiring 10 new employees and wanted to know if I wanted the job. That I didn't even have to come in for an interview because she knew I was a good employee and said the job was mine (after I spoke w/ her boss) if I wanted it. Long story short, I start this Monday!. God is Good! He made Himself personal to me but I had to open my heart to His plan by trusting in Him. Here is my prayer request. I'm so scared. I love God and I trust God and I know this is from Him but I'm still scared. This last job I was in was terrible. I was working w/someone who hated and despised me and was very critical of my work and of me which made me feel incompetent. My self esteem was bashed into little pieces of nothing everyday. I'm so unsure about myself, even though I've been working in my field since 1987. I took a week off and feel a little rested and better but as Monday draws closer I get more and more anxious about failing. Especially since I was only at this last job for nine months. I really hope for this job to work. Thank you for your prayer. Dianna RE: Fear in a New Job. - Guest - 03-30-2014 09:17 PM Dianna, I pray in the Mighty Name of Yeshua that you would go in to work tomorrow with full confidence in God, knowing that He gave you this job and that you will not fail! I pray that He will be with you every day on this job, and bless you in it, to enjoy it, and even at the times you don't, to count it all joy, knowing that on this earth we need to do our work as unto the Lord. Don't expect your employer to necessarily reward you (although they may) but your reward will come from obeying the Lord and putting Him first in all your ways. Be salt and light on this job and read and study His Word every chance you get so that you will grow in Yeshua. |
