please keep my Grandma in your prayers - mlmeiring - 03-28-2013 02:19 PM
My Grandma (Louise) is going through Chemo for the second time to beat Lymphoma. The cancer is back after 5 years and is worse than before and therefore the treatment is much stronger. She also has Scleroderma and anemia. Her lungs are at 38% function. Her first chemo was last week and she is suffering extreme pain. Besides the fatigue, nausia etc that comes with chemo everything aches and pains. From her legs all the way. Through to her gums and teeth. Painkillers don't seem to work for very long and a relatively good nights sleep only occurs with sleeping pills. She had a very bad yesterday and said she can't take anymore and is giving up. Today she was to weak to speak to us over the phone. My grandparents moved to Cape Town a few years ago which means that my Mom and I can't be there everyday to offer support. My Grandad is carrying the heavy task of motivation, caretaker etc all on his own.
Please pray for my Grandparents. Firstly for my Gran (Louise) who is in extreme pain. Please pray that she will find the strenght and will to survive this second round of treatment. Pray that she will know how much she is loved and that even though we are not there we are fighting this battle with her every step of the way. And if it is not God's will that my Gran survive this disease that He please not let her suffering drag on for very long. Secondly please pray for my Grandpa (Cobus) who loves my Gran very much and is practically taking care of her on his own. Pray that he will have the strenght to keep positive and help get my Gran through this difficult time.
