Please pray for my marriage - Guest - 12-07-2010 08:01 AM My marriage is on the knife's edge. Divorce is on the horizon and no matter how hard I try, and how much I pray, nothing seems to be stopping the march towards it. My wife has turned from God and is seeing someone else behind my back. I'm trying to be the husband God wants me to be, but she doesn't see anything I do. I'm frightened for my daughter, and I don't see a way out of this. Please pray for my marriage, my daughter, my wife and myself. Thank you for your prayers. RE: Please pray for my marriage - Guest - 12-07-2010 08:21 AM Lord Jesus, we ask that this marriage be saved, be it YOUR WILL, that this man's wife be faithful to the vows she took. Heavenly Father, Wrap Your Arms Around this family, this man & his daughter, that they are spared undue heartache & suffering. Divorce is so devastating & not pleasing to YOU. Help him see too that no matter the outcome, YOU ARE THERE. You Are our ROCK, our Father, our Spouse. That he keep his eyes on Heaven, always, his heart fixed on YOU JESUS, that we are YOUR WARRIORS, we are not afraid. Stay Close To him Jesus. He is the head in his family, that he never doubt this or YOUR LOVE. The fight ultimately is our salvation. Help us remember another cannot shake our foundation, when we walk with YOU, Almighty God & Father. ![]() Guest Wrote:My marriage is on the knife's edge. I haven't given up hope as God can accomplish anything, but things are very grim. I've attempted to keep my daughter in the dark as to what's happening, but it's very difficult. My wife refused to let me kiss her last night, and my daughter saw it. She turns to me with her perfect little eyes, and said "I'm sorry dadah." She was apologizing for my wife. That cut like a knife into my heart. I am attempting to leave it all with God, but things like that, when my daughter sees the pain, makes it very difficult indeed. RE: Please pray for my marriage - Guest - 12-07-2010 09:58 AM God Bless you & your daughter. The pains of divorce are real & severe. Marriage vows are serious & God Speaks of them in the bible. But not all walk closely along God's Path. Know you are not alone, there are many that are victims of unwanted divorce. However, we are saved through HIS LOVE. The tests here on this earth at times seem insurmountable. Hold fast to CHRIST, always. We are to, love at all times. You have your daughter's love, Christ's love, there are unfortunately, MANY that also have gone through this (loss of a marriage). I pray to GOD that this is not how it turns out for you, that your wife turn her heart back where it belongs, in respect to you, to her marriage & family & to God. Never forget, that Christ is our Father, he never leaves us. It is amazing how strong the heart is, aligned with Christ, in HIS WORD. Jesus, Be With this man as he is working hard to please YOU, his wife & family by doing all he can to make this marriage work. Help him not give up hope, but hold fast to YOU & Your Word. You Are our Rock & our Salvation! Let no man shake us from this foundation. In Jesus' Name I pray. ![]() Guest Wrote:Thank you for your prayer. RE: Please pray for my marriage - Guest - 12-08-2010 05:56 AM Thank you for your prayers. They make a difference. RE: Please pray for my marriage - adoring1 - 12-08-2010 07:38 AM My brother...pray for your wife to return to God that he might direct her... Father, Thank you for the realization given this morning about how we pray about our troubled marriages. How I wish I had understood this some years ago when I was praying for my own. Forgive me for praying so selfishly then about what I wanted my ex-husband to do while he was caught up in adultery because of my own broken heart, my EROS love for him and my own pain and desires...that I missed the true mark. Perhaps the growth you have provided over these last 8 years can help others? I pray that it will...and I pray that earnest prayers, from many prayer warriors to reclaim those that have strayed from God will bring movement in many hearts... some of stone and some that are broken... and repair to many homes on the verge of collapse. Speak life into these marriages. Turn hearts away from fraudulent partners and back to those to whom vows of fidelity were made. Give this husband or wife a rock solid understanding of what he/she is dealing with. This is not a battle with people who influence, other women or other men; it is one against spiritual wickedness among powers and principalities in high places...there is oppression operating against this wife or husband from these powers and principalities to turn their free will against God. They may not recognize it, but as I pray, this is what I am led to say. For the husband or wife of one who has strayed, I pray that he/she understands that there can be no breakthrough until this spouse is right with God. It is not about them loving in an EROS way this spouse they have left behind or the person with whom they are currently involved. It is not about them returning to this marriage or staying in an unholy relationship...rather it is about their returning to a relationship with Christ. Unless and until they recognize that they are in opposition to the Lord...His will and His ways...there will be no change in the current outcome and in fact it may become worse. This fallen spouse believes that their actions are right...okay...in their sight. They believe it as strongly as the one who has been left behind and wants reconciliation believes. He/she has been convinced by this evil oppression that what he/she is doing is somehow justified. As long as this husband/wife who has been left continues the quest, even in prayer for EROS love as their focus...there will be no change in the behavior of the other. By definition EROS love is that which is fueled by selfish desire...we want those we love to love us back, to share intimacy with us and us only...and this is both natural and human and ultimately what God intends in the marriage relationship...but the need within the one that has strayed that will return HIM or HER to righteousness is for AGAPE love to return...loving themselves as God loves them, loving their spouses as God loves them also...continuance of marriage is NOT a condition for AGAPE love...nothing is...it is unconditional. When we pray in this circumstance...we can and should pray for the return of this straying partner to their marriage...but first things first, as our God does things decently and in order. Let us pray for a return of the straying spouse to God...to His principles, to reverence for Him. When we revere God we cannot go against his ways. The heart of stone that currently exists in the breast of the one who is unfaithful is because their conscience has been seared...and continuance of this is exactly what the enemy wants. Let us bombard heaven with prayers to bring the unfaithful ones back to Jesus...let us ask for them to see themselves through the eyes of Jesus...let us ask that they see how HIS spirit is grieved because of their actions, not our own grief...let us ask for them to see that they are throwing His love, His sacrifice out the window due to their own quest for EROs which can and will bring chaos and destruction into their lives and those in their families... as it already has. These unfaithful husbands and wives are beyond the reach of what their spouses want right now...they no longer care about it...they are deeply engaged in her their own selfish quests to have what THEY want. But they are not beyond the reach of God. Let us pray with all our might that those who have broken their vows fall in love with Jesus again! If they do...if they get back into God's order...the order of the decency of God...their free will can be directed again by the Lord of Hosts...and their return to their marriages, where they belong can again become possible. This I believe...and it is this I pray. In Jesus name...Amen! RE: Please pray for my marriage - Guest - 12-08-2010 08:13 AM Thank you so much for your prayers. I've been praying for months that she would turn her eyes back to Christ first and foremost. Nothing else can move forward without a steadfast, solid and faithful relationship with God. I want that for her more than I want our marriage to be healed. In the end, if I lose her, but she turns back to him, then I will still be glad for her. RE: Please pray for my marriage - Guest - 12-08-2010 08:25 AM Lord, Be With this guest & his family, help them to work things out that You Be Glorified. Some Lord, do not have good role models growing up as to marriage & commitment, they for whatever reason are not able to commit in relationships & marriage easily. We lift them up to YOU especially, that they know LOVE, Lord, YOUR LOVE. Let us be beacons of YOUR LIGHT, Father, that we may love & live in The Truth, that we walk steadfast, grounded in what is right. The path, "narrow, & few shall find it." Let us remain on Your Path, Jesus. Help this man to hold tight to that which is the foundation in his family Lord, You Are our Rock, our Salvation. This world will pass away, but Eternal Life Is Forever. When we love & loose in love, the love remains in our hearts, because Heavenly Father, YOU ARE LOVE. God Is Love. Love Is. We cannot control others, their choices, but with Your Grace, we can be all You Have Made us to be. Show us YOUR WILL, Heavenly Father, that we be pleasing to YOU. Know you are not alone in this, there are many others dealing with similar circumstances. Our fight, is for our eternal life, salvation. In the big scope of things, the difficulties of this earth are minor compared to The Beauty of Heaven. I know it seems overwhelming but if you can keep that in mind going through this, it helps.
