Thanksgiving and other news - Mel-S - 11-23-2010 05:36 PM

As the holiday week comes, I come to find out that my (ex)boyfriend is finally coming home to MD for Thanksgiving this week. He was the one who told me. It's been 8 months since I last saw him and you have no idea how happy I am to see him. Every day I ask God, just when is he coming back home to MD to visit his family (and me)? So he just told me he is coming home this week for Thanksgiving. Thank God I finally know. And it's this week as well! So it won't be long at all (actually in 2 days) he'll be here again. :D

Of course, I still want him to be my boyfriend and lover and future husband? Surprised I haven't given up yet? Well I'm not until he does come back. My mom keeps telling me "don't fit the piece in the puzzle if its not going to fit and move to a new puzzle." Uh-uh. My (ex)boyfriend if the final piece to my puzzle. I have God, my family, and my friends. And only he can fit my puzzle in my heart. I know he is the missing piece of the puzzle. I'm happy and sad at the same time. Happy because I get to see him, sad because I'm starting to get stressed and everyone (including my mom now) is thinking that he will never come back to me and these negative words are making me more upset and angry and Satan is starting to take over in my thoughts again. I'm not letting him take over my thoughts. My faith is still having him as mine forever, and if push comes to shove, I'm pushing it over a high mountain. So I need divine prayer this week.

One: for myself and my family as well as others to have a happy Thanksgiving and safe travels.
Two: For this week to be the week that my (ex)boyfriend and I to have a miracle connection and be together once more and again. This will be the most greatest holiday present I could ever have in case he may or may not come home for Christmas next month.

I have not given up... and I know you guys are saying that I should just drop it and ask for His will. I did and my faith still lies on fighting the fight of my love and my heart. And he is my first and I know he will be my only. And if (and I dislike the word 'if') it doesn't work out within my faith's level (which is pretty high right now and I pray it doesn't get any lower ever in this and of course I have been praying for 8 months now on this), I will give up in dating forever until he comes back. Sounds unnecessary, but it's my decision. I'm not saying if it doesn't happen this week, I will give up and stuff. No, no. I'm saying that I will fight for this forever and more if I have and want to, even if it means I give up on dating forever until this happens. Call me stubborn and desperate, but when it comes to something I truly truly love and care about, it's written in stone in my heart. And with the Almighty God's help, a miracle connection between me and him WILL happen in Jesus name.

Last night I put in my prayer request for Rod Paisley's Breakthrough Prayer show that was on TV last night. Pastors from all over wrote the requests on prayer cloths and prayed over them on live television. I was in tears because my prayer with my mom's smoking, dad's health, me and my ex reuniting, etc. was in those thousands of prayers. I was crying... because for months, there were days where I thought God was so silent... he was saying No to my prayers... Times where He was so silent... that He might be helping other people... and forgot about me. Times that even now, as I'm praying... that God won't put His hands on me and grant the desires of my heart... But my faith is still shimmering in the darkness... and for all of my prayers and desires and needs... I need Him to at least show me He's there... It's been over a month since I last heard from God... and things have slowly gotten worse... finances aren't good. My dad's had a huge health scare that even broke my mom down (thank God he's okay, and it's a long story for another time)... Times are getting tougher. and my heart was getting weaker. But my faith is still shimmering in the darkness... I still do not get why I'm still fighting for my dreams (which were posted a long time ago here) and why I didn't give up when I truly felt like giving up because nothing was happening in my life... but all I keep hearing from the sermons on TV... the radio... everywhere I go... that faith and the Lord are the weapons to fighting the Devil and his minions and to also have the desires of your heart granted as soon as one may blink an eye... Then it hit me... God keeps giving me strength to not give up on these things that I have been fighting for months on end. And this week is one of those weeks when my faith is being tested... which within the months I feel I have been failing and rising and failing again. It's hard to really put to words... yet the tears I'm shedding at this moment and the way I feel in my soul really tell for itself, even though you cannot see me.

Please prayer warriors... from a young 19 year old still trying to fight a blessed and spiritual fight with God and her loved ones... pray for me... pray for the other warriors that are traveling this week... and pray for a miracle... especially when the times are so tough, I do not know what to do with myself sometimes. I wanted to just give up on everything... but my mom always tell me that you will not receive it if you do not ask. I'm asking God... and even begging now... for help... for me to see that He's still there... I'm thankful for what I have, yes... I just need a miracle. Especially at a time like this. And I have asked for His will. These things are still there in my heart. And I will not give up. In Jesus Name... Amen.

Father, I pray that this Thanksgiving this young man's travel gets him safely home and and back to his base. Please hear Mel's requests for healing for her father and the deliverance of smoking addiction for her mother and the relationship hopes that she has and answer them according to your perfect will. Bless Mel's family in their finances and in every other area of need in their lives. Let Agape love abound this Thanksgiving among them and let there be happy memories created and happiness and peace in each of their lives. In Jesus name...Amen!

Thanks so much. I really need these prayers. It's been (literally) Hell since I last posted. I need a miracle and soon. Again thanks.

My body feels shaky and uneasy... and I have been crying since I posted the request... I need to unwaver my unbelief... i need comfort... more faith... and know and believe that my desires will come to reality... all of them, not just some. It's been (literally) Hell since I last posted my last request... and I seriously want things to get better... for my family and for me... Please pray for me, especially from now until Thanksgiving. I really need it. Thanks.

Dear Lord,

I come to You now thanking You for Mel-S's testimony and for having her so willing to open up. Lord, her life has been an example for me and I pray Lord that in this tough time that You would show her Your will. Lord, I understand how hard it is when things seem to be falling all around you like your world is caving in. Lord, I ask that You would show her as You once showed me why things the way they are and what You would have her to do. Show her that You want to answer her prayers in the best way possible...that Your will is sovern and that no matter what happens, You are still God and that You will always love her. I pray that You would comfort her--her faith is wavering and I pray that You would make progress this week. I ask that You would show her what You have in store for her.

In Christ's name I pray. Amen.

Mel-S,

Just trust in the Lord during this time...don't focus so much on what you want to happen. That's very hard advice, but I think that you need to hear it. I have found in my life that when you focus on what's going on around you it takes your trust away from the Lord. I know that you said that you have faith, but I can also sense that you are struggling (and I don't mean to badger you in any way--all of this is said in love). Focus purely on God--don't think so much about being reunited with your ex or with the other issues going on in your home. Worrying will not make anything better. The best thing to do is to focus on God and those things, believe it or not, will resolve themselves--because the Lord will take care of it. God doesn't want you to be miserable all the time. He wants to see you happy and if these things are constantly bringing you down then maybe that's not what you are supposed to be focusing on. They are valuable and important to you (and I am in no way trying to say that they aren't) but God wants you to turn to Him--don't think so much about the circumstances. No matter what happens--remember the Lord still loves you and if for some reason He were to say no about anything, like the boyfriend situation--don't give up hope. Ask Him to bring you the one you ARE supposed to be with and if that's the ex then it'll be--but if not, the Lord has someone who won't make you cry, who will be the man that the Lord wants him to be for you. Let the Lord be your matchmaker and focus on Him to bring about joy--because I know how exhausting it is to hold out for someone.

I held out to be with a certain man for about half a year or so...probably closer to eight months. But, I realized that I was never going to be with him. He had no goals in his life, he wasn't saved (which is a HUGE reason why I should and cannot be with him--he still isn't unfortunately), and he found someone else. Believe me, that was painful and hard to watch--especially because the girl does not treat him the way he ought to be. But, I was far to focused on him--I still struggle with that at times. However, I let that go and I have felt better...I'm not crying every day and I don't worry constantly about him coming back to me. I'm far from "over" him, but I realize that God has someone way better for me in store and I did gain a friend if nothing else. The Lord still allows me to witness to him and I still go and have fun with him as my friend. So, I was blessed.

So please, Mel, if something were to happen this weekend to show you that somehow this may not be the Lord's will, please don't give up hope. The Lord made you into a wonderful young lady and He wouldn't have you to be alone...that's obvious. Don't waste your whole life on someone who is not supposed to be with you, if that is the case--find the one the Lord has for you and rejoice in His blessing.

I hope that you haven't been offended. I am not trying to attack you in any way and I just want to give you advice, because I know what it's like to be rejected and to go through the pain of having to let go. However, the choice is ultimately up to you--if you feel the Lord would have you to be with your ex, trust Him to do it--but more importantly, I think you should trust the Lord that He is sovern and that He will bring the right man into your life no matter who that is. Trust Him in THAT.

May the Lord bless you and have a wonderful, safe Thanksgiving.

I agree with previous posts, in His Name.
Also, Mel, did you ever think too that God Allows struggles in your life, that you do pray & call on HIS NAME?
What a joy for Him To See this that you are always seeking HIM.
You also are not afraid to pray with others, so you are an example in your testimoney of your life, as a witness to Christ.
From all you have written, this is I believe your greatest testimoney, your continued faith in HIM. That alone is precious as He Is, The I Am.
Don't give up. The world is at a crossroads & our journey to our True Home may indeed be near!

Bless Heart

RE: Thanksgiving and other news - Mel-S - 11-24-2010 09:15 AM

I really want to thank you guys for the advice. And yes I am still trusting God would have me be with my ex. I practically given up on dating forever until he comes back. Yes, that was my decision. Call it a toss in the wind... but that was what I decided as of last night. Until my ex comes back, I give up on dating. Now, I haven't dated anyone or had any interest in anyone since the break-up, but I'm withholding myself from dating until he comes back and reunites with me. That shows how much dedication I have in this prayer. Because you guys have known me for 8 months and this still burns inside of me... So you guys have no idea how surprised, even at myself, to have this still as a prominent prayer. Many have given up at this stage but I will not... Once something is really and truly in my heart (and I've been practically born with this, I mean here I am since the age of 9 wanting to be an animator and now I'm in college for animation 10 years later, so yes I've been born with this trait) that I will stop at nothing to achieve what I desire or dream up. It took me 10 years to wanting to be an animator... and here I am in college for animation. If I can do that, then this is no problem to continue to pray for this either. I've had my ups and down on being an animator too. Mom wanted me to be a doctor. Dad wanted me to be a police officer. I said no. I said no for 10 years. And now I am living my dream as to becoming an animator. I've had my ups and down on my faith back then too... then my dream finally became reality. So I believe this will happen in the same situation too.

And I know others have been through the same... and most have been reunited with the one they have been praying for. My older sister: waited on her first husband to reunite with her for 25 years. 25 years and she still wanted him. He was in jail for several charges. Yet she still wanted to be with him. They got divorced before he went to jail. Even though she was married 3 more times... in her heart that was not what she wanted. She wanted to wait for the one she truly loved, even though he was in jail. And here they are 25 years later, he's out of jail, and they're reunited and doing great. And remember my mom's story about wanting a baby even there was a time when it was 90% impossible to do so when one of her ovaries had to be removed because one of the babies she wanted to have was developing in her fallopian tube and had to get that and her ovary removed, making it impossible to have a baby in the way it had to be removed? Here she is... well here I am... 19 years later. So that's another die-hard prayer they had happen. So I believe it'll happen to me too. My mom prayed for... hmm... around 9-10 years on that one.

So you kind of get what I'm saying. My family has this "dream written in stone on the heart" thing and apparently I have it too. *laugh* But this and all of the other prayers you have seen me posted in the past mean a lot to me... all of them mean a lot to me. It would definitely make my life just that much better and then... you know I can be that testimony that dreams do come true through prayer. It happened to my family, and I believe it'll happen to me. Please keep me in your prayers. If (and I dislike the word 'if') it doesn't happen this week, that does not mean I will give up. That just means I'm not trying hard enough. That means I have to try harder. If (that word again) it does happen, then I can take this miracle and make it into something that much greater. A win-win situation right? Smile

So I thank you guys and I will update you/ask for another prayer request throughout the week. Promise.

~Mel-S

RE: Thanksgiving and other news - Mel-S - 11-24-2010 09:27 PM

Lord, as I go to sleep and get ready for tomorrow's Thanksgiving festivities, I want to thank You for all you have given me thus far. I'm thankful of still having You in my life... If I didn't have you... I would not be here right now... not my mom... or my dad would be here either. And I'm thankful for the miracles and the desires You shall grant me soon... You know my heart's desires, Lord... and I'm trusting You so hard to grant them. Sometimes, I will admit, it's so hard to trust when you think none of it will come to you. It's hard to trust when I don't know if you would actually grant my heart's desires like you have promised... but I trust that You will grant my heart's desires. You did it for my mother... and my sister... please let this be passed down to me as well. I'm thankful for everything. Please grant my heart's desires so I can have these things and can be that much more thankful. Please Lord, if you can hear me right now, because I know there are thousands of people praying to You now (seriously I do not know how You can hear me and hear 1000s more at once...), if You can hear me... in Jesus name, please work on my miracles this week... please let this week be my Miracle Week. I really need it. And it'll make me happier than I am now and was all this year, when things went from good to bad to worse. Lord... please hear me cry. Let this be my Miracle Week... and let tomorrow be the start of a miracle... please let there be a miracle... and please let my desires be realized, noticed, and bought upon me. PLEASE... and thank You. In Jesus name I wholehearted pray... Amen.

RE: Thanksgiving and other news - Guest - 11-24-2010 09:31 PM

Dear Lord,

Please help Mel to see Your will in the situation this week, Father. I pray that she would know Your workings this week and that she would see what You would have her to do. I pray that she would not give up hope on her dreams and that she would trust You to know what is best in all the situations that have been brought to her. I pray that You would begin to work in her life, that You would soften her heart to hear what You have to say. Please, allow her to see that You want to bless her and that You want the best for her. But I ask Lord, that if things do not work out as she anticipates, I ask that You would show her Your goodness through it. Please allow her to see that You alone know what is best and I ask that she would focus on You for all her answers.

I pray in Christ's name. Amen.

Please continue to keep me in your prayers and all of the things that I have posted thus far. Happy Thanksgiving once more. Amen.
