HOMESCHOOLING HOPES - Jesus-Head - 10-03-2010 09:16 AM
Please pray with me that God:
1. Confirm to my wife and me soon (so I don't persue other employment) whether it's His will that I stay home and homeschool my son.
2. Make it financially possible for me to.
3. Supply me with the character, patience and energy to be consistent, persistent and dilligent in being his teacher.
On the 1st of April 2011 I will be retiring from the Air Force after serving for 24+ years. My hearts desire is that I could work from home in one way or another so that I can build into my son some of the things I've been just too busy to do since God so graciously gave him to me to look after. Joshua, my son, has three different learning disailities that I believe God has uniquely equipped me to address in my style of teaching. I could provide him the focussed academic coaching that he couldn't get in any educational institution be it public or private. His teachers in the pulic school he attends at the moment appear to see his learning challenges as a huge inconvenience and frankly that vexes me. I'll be taking more than a 50% pay cut when I retire. My pay would cover the mortgage and some of the utilities only. So it doesn't make financial sense and my wife, who tried homeschooling my stepdaughter in the late 90s and feels ill equipped to even consider doing the same with Joshua, needs confirmation soon that my homeschooling Josh is indeed God's will.

Please give this Parent a Divine answer to his question. Because you know all of the ramifications and expectation and conflicts life long that any decision may bring, make your Will clear to him and his wife.

Lord help this father be able to train his son at home, and at the same time earn a salary big enough so he can meet all his obligations for the family's needs. Also heal his son Joshua of whatever disabilities he has, we know nothing is impossible for you, and you can make him as normal as any other healthy child. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
