Just found this in Open Doors magazine. - havemercylord2010 - 10-01-2010 01:28 PM Please pray for Tohar, and if you are at all able write to him. Here is the article: "Tohar Haydarov is 27 years old and lives in Uzbekistan. Formerly a Muslim, he became a Christian and a member of the Baptist Church in Gulistan. Today, however, he is far from home - in a labor camp, 250 miles away. It was his family who put him there. In January of this year, Tohars relatives asked the local police to help them force him to return to Islam. The police pressured Tohar to deny Jesus, but he refused. So they accused him of manufacturing and possesing drugs. His Church family are adamant that the case has been fabricated and that Tohar is 'a man with a pure conscience and an honest Christian.' They reported that Tohars lawyer presented written documents to the court, proving that the case was 'totally fabricated, and that records of the case contained 243 violations of procedural norms and regulations.' No use. Tohar was sentenced to ten years imprisonment. Labor camos in Uzbekestan can be unsanitary, dangerous places, with beatings from guards, criminal gangs maintaining a hold over prisoners, and a high level of sickness. Prisoners are not allowed to read the Bible or pray visibly. But they can receive letters! Which is where we come in -even if our writting skills are rusty and our handwritting poor, we can offer comfort and hope. Tohar has appealed to the supreme court for justice, but each day that passes must surely challenge his faith. Any word of encouragement that we can give him - a colourful card, a brief message, a verse or a prayer - will be of immense worth. Tohar is, of course, just one of many Christians who face persecution. A note from us means such a lot to these people. It shows they aren't forgotten, they aren't alone. Signed Claire. Or if you just want to pray that is a great help too. Just do what you can. Thank you RE: Just found this in Open Doors magazine. - adoring1 - 10-01-2010 04:10 PM Father, I pray for this man that you sustain him through this unbelievable hardship. I ask that in your mercy as you led the cell doors that had locked Paul in to open and walked him out of prison while guards were positioned all around...that you do so for this man. Father, in the name of all that is holy...release him! In Jesus name...Amen! RE: Just found this in Open Doors magazine. - JAMARX08 - 10-01-2010 04:34 PM Heavenly Father You realize the zeal that Muslims have and though misplaced they are innocent as the truth is hidden from them. Strengthen this man and bring him into your light in a way that he might be a lamp unto others facings similar issues, and under family condemnation. Be his guidance and Savior! In Jesus Name, amen RE: Just found this in Open Doors magazine. - stevendanielsen - 10-01-2010 05:19 PM Dear Havenly Father The Kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven forgive us are sin as we for give are debtor and lead us not into temptiation but deliver us from evil Please answer this person prayer acord to your will and bless there life Lord and we give you all the priase honor and glory in all of this.
