:cry:Please pray for me for the following horrible problem/sin. A few years ago i fell into a horrible sin and allowed someone into my life in an adulterous way. After a couple years i returned to my husband and broke this off. HOWEVER my mind still goes back to this man so often and in so many ways, and most times I get angry. I NEED to let go and stop the thoughts. I have been given advice as far as thinking on scripture, hymns etc and still battling. PLEASE pray and any advice will be gladly taken.This is destroying me in many ways. Also some health and weight issues.

Lord I pray that you would comfort Cheryl in the knowledge that you paid the price for her sin, and that she is free from the past through your love and grace. Lord I pray that you would set her mind on your thoughts so that she won't think of the past, in your name Jesus I pray

Cheryl, the enemy attacks those that are saved in their thoughts. If you have asked forgiveness of the Lord and repented...then this is an attack where the enemy is aware that you have had a weakness in the past. He cannot possess the saved, as he cannot indwell where the Holy Spirit resides...but he can oppress. Using scripture to send him away is the only real remedy. Each time he attacks apply scripture. That means that you need to memorize it and repeat it aloud...at the time of an attack. Aloud is important because unlike God...the enemy cannot read our thoughts. Yes it will continue to happen...that is the modis operendi of the enemy but each time say scripture and he will flee. For example..."Get thee behind me Satan!" "If God be for me...who can be against me!" "Resist the devil and he will flee"...I resist!
Father, help Cheryl to realize that the enemy only has so many tricks and uses them repetitively on your people to trap them and to try to lead them into sin in their areas of perceived weakness. Father help Cherly to understand that your word is the best and purest of weapons against the tricks of the enemy. Let her hide it in her heart that she may use it with confidence each time he attacks. Let her know this will make her stronger and a greater victor in warfare against evil. In Jesus name...Amen!
