Depression and hopelessness - Guest - 12-17-2009 07:08 PM

I am in a deep, deep depression due to the break up I had with my girlfriend. We declared loved to each other and talked of marriage. I pray for relief from my depression and her from her pattern of hopelessness in relationships which has led her to heavy drinking and tuning out of reality with excessive party. Her relationships of the past were abusive and she withdraws from me and ours because of reliving those distorted relationships in ours. Please pray that her and I can heal together and defeat the past intrusions to our happiness. It is a simple thing to pray for, please do so we can both gain happiness instead of living lies and pain. If her and I can not be together please pray that we each find true love and ease of the loss of our love, as this is an urgent need at least for myself. I need to feel happy and at ease in my life and career again, thank you so much.

I want to share something with you as others did with me when I was in a similar situation. I was previously in a relationship where we declared our love for each other and when we broke up, I though my world was over. I was devastated. Then several elders wrote small little notes of encouragement. May of them had been in relationships that they though was "the one". As time went on, they realized that "the one" was not what God had in mind for them. Many married women that were far beyond what they could have imagined. I have been with my best friend for 4 years and we just married. It has been over 6 years since the girl that I thought was "the one" and I broke up. I am so much happier now and truly God brought me my true match despite my thinking the previous girl was supposed to be.

I say all that to encourage you in your time of pain. I pray that God would bring you peace and hope for his plan. I pray that he would heal your wounds separately from each other. If it is his will to bring you back together again, I pray that it would be in his perfect timing. If his will is for you to be with another, I pray that he would give you a trusting heart that his will will be the best for you and bring you more joy than you thought possible. Lord be with this man and this woman and direct them in your path. Amen.
