RE: Please pray for my marriage - Guest - 12-13-2010 03:47 AM

*Update* My wife seems to be slipping further and further from God. She's reading pornographic books, wants nothing to do with fellowship, and is continuing to lie to me about her involvement with this man, and now about our finances as well... I'm still praying constantly for her and for the marriage, but it seems that every time I find out some new piece of information, it is bad news. I'm doing everything I can to treat her with love and respect, but I feel like she's slipping away from me a piece at a time. Some friends were praying about the situation recently, and one of them (without knowing any details about the situation) said "I feel there is a big dark secret that one of them (as in husband and wife) is hiding." I know I'm not hiding anything from her, so I've been praying that she will find the courage to come to me and confess so that we can finally begin to heal, but she is so distant and guarded, I wonder if she'll ever open herself up to God... I know without The Lord, she will still be in the enemy's camp, and with all of the pain in her past (she has a history of abuse), that there is little chance of change. She is hardening her heart on what feels like a daily basis. I am asking that The Lord soften it and bring her back to me. I still love her and want our marriage to work. Please pray for my situation. Thank you.

Also a child of a friend of hers just died this morning. She doesn't understand why God would allow this, and it feels as if she's using this as another reason to push him away. I asked her if I could pray with her about it, and once again, she has refused to pray with me. I keep praying for her on my own, but my heart aches for the fellowship I want to have with my wife...

I signed up as I feel that this thread will need to be kept alive. I feel strongly that I need to ask for the majority of the prayer be for my wife. I am growning in The Lord, and through my teaching, so is my daughter. My wife however, is pusing him away. She will not pray with me, she's told me that she's not reading his word. She's told me she's angry and resents him because he will not answer her prayers as she wants them answered. I feel a distance growing between us, and not simply because of the affair or the lies, those are merely symptoms of her distancing herself from The Lord. I would please ask for God to prick her heart, to convict her through the Holy Spirit, that she may turn back to him. Lord God, please soften her heart.

Lord, we lift redeemedbyhim up to YOU for YOUR HEALING & in this marriage. Lord, two become one, & if one partner quits working on the marriage it is confusing. Too, Lord, You Ask us to keep YOU FIRST in our lives, that we live for YOU & be saved.
Marriage is hard work & our focus is also on our spouse. If we are not solid with YOU LORD, then division can happen & straying from TRUTH.
Lord Guide this man's wife back toward him & that love & that they together, remember what is truely important. God, YOU ARE LOVE, & our hearts weary when a partner is not with us working to keep things right.
Help redeemedbyhim always stay close to YOU, Lord, You Are Pleased when there is prayer, that we do not give up, on YOU, on that which YOU Bring Together. Give this man hope Jesus, Speak To him, that he is forever strong in & with YOU!
Amen

Father, restore this woman to her right mind and give her a Godly countenance. Deliver her from these worldly ways and bring her to a desire for holiness. Father let her be moved to desire the company and presence of this husband and remove any and all things, people and dark spirits that would have her do otherwise from her life...completely. Father, please deliver, heal and restore all that is needed to have this marriage stand. In Jesus name..Amen!

Lord God, I know your will is for both of us to respect and honor our marriage vows, but if she does not, and leaves me Lord, I ask that you continue to work on her heart. Turn her back to you. Lord, you know I don't want my marriage to end. You know that I don't want to lose my wife and daughter. I will trust in you Lord. No matter what happens Lord, I know I am safe in your hand. Please protect my daughter. She is young, and doesn't understand what is happening. I feel that things are coming to a head Lord. Please help me to say and do the things that will be in accordance with your will. That I can do and say what is needed at the right time. Lord God, I lay my life, with all its problems at your feet.

Things seem to be getting worse. She is lying to me more and more. I haven't confronted her yet as I feel that The Lord has asked me to stand back and let him work. Please pray that he pricks her heart and that her heart softens.

Lord, we lift this up to YOU, that YOU HELP redeemedbyhim, in his marriage, in his life & ministry, for his family, Jesus.
Heal him Heavenly Father, that he continues to lead this marriage, his family, as YOU ARE his Leader, Keep him safe.
Help him to push into new avenues Lord that he does have control over, his ministry, however it is LORD, no matter how large or small, that it be for YOUR GLORY.
Help soften his wife's heart that she see YOU & appreciate all that she does have, Dearest Lord, Father Almighty.
We cannot control others, we can stay in prayer & continue our own growth with HIM.
You do not ever have to leave or divorce your wife, remember that God Hates divorce. It is a dividing force, that is not appealing to HIM.
If it happens & it is that your wife wants this, & you agree, then that is something that may happen, however, you can use this time to stay close to THE LORD, HE IS our Father, HE IS our Spouse, & we are never for want.
Jesus, Open The Doors for redeemedbyhim, keep him strong knowing Heaven Draws Near & we rejoice in YOUR PRESENCE!
Heal his life Jesus, we ask all of this in YOUR HOLY NAME.
Amen

I was able to read the bible to her last night. She refused to read it herself, discuss any of it, or pray herself. She claims that her faith is strong, and that she believes in Jesus, but she cannot answer any of my questions as to why reading pornography would be acceptible. She also said that she doesn't believe my own faith is real and seems to be keeping me at arms length. Please pray that I get to read to/with her again, and that God will touch her heart and bring her back to Him and to me...
