JW's are so brainwashed that God is probably the ONLY power that could correct their false doctrine. My brother and his family was lost to that cult for a couple of decades. He escaped but his wife and son still adhere to it. The truth is that Christ's words in the NT are so clear you do not need ANYBODY to "spin" it for you. Just steer clear of those who present the doctrines of men as God's word (as Christ warned us)

Today some Jehova's Witnesses came by and left a doctrinal statement. I had inkling of their doctrine before, and my first instinct was to correct them on the divinity of Christ and the nature of the Trinity. They left as I was reading their tract, and I had the urge to go speak to them. And then I felt doubt, as a fairly new Christian with little memory for specific passages, I thought I would fail in a duel of bible citations. I forgot that it is the Holy Spirit that convicts people of their error, not the person doing the speaking. Even in my limited scriptural knowledge, I could have spoken the truth and trusted God to do the mind changing.

I ask that you pray for the pair who came to my door that their eyes be opened, and pray for me that I do not forget to trust in God to change men's hearts and my job is to speak the truth.

Thank you.
