RE: Lost Love
Update--
Well, I suppose the worst has happened...at least, what I've always been afraid of. My friend has gotten a girlfriend. I want to be happy for him, but I am still sad for me. Just please be in continued prayer for me to have strength during this time...to continue to have the ability to witness and impact this young man's life. I stand by what I have said earlier, that my love is of no use to him--even if he did return his feelings. I just need strength in going through this rough patch...I don't want to lose him as my friend. That I am certain of. I don't want my emotions to get in the way of that or of seeing him get saved. Please continue in prayer and thank you for all your advice and prayers--for your consideration in my time of need.

RE: Lost Love
Lord be with young woman as she is going through this rough time in her life. May she soon realize that you know best, and have already chosen the right man for her in the future. Give her wisdom from now on to wait on you for all that concerns her. Uplift her spirits as you let her feel your love comforting her and making her strong as a woman and in you. Lord have your perfect will be done in her life, health, and help her to move on forward not looking back. In Jesus Christ Precious Name I pray, and I thank you in advance Heavenly Father to whom all the Honor, the Glory, and the Power belongs, Amen!
Mathew 18:19 - 20
"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.

RE: Lost Love
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for me. Please continue to be in prayer for us (not as a couple obviously--but in our own separate needs). I am so afraid of losing my friend to this girl--I think it is a fear that maybe has driven me more than losing him romantically. I want him to lean on me for direction, comfort...the things of a best friend...but that is also what a girlfriend is for. Just pray that I can continue to be an influence, but in a godly manner. I cannot come between he and whomever he choses to be with...it's not Christian, ethical, or even what a good friend would do. I just don't know how I'm going to influence him now that he has this person in his life. I'm afraid to take up his time like we did before when he was single. I'm afraid of my own selfish desires blinding me with jealousy so that I cannot focus on what is really important. I just need to turn to the Lord...but please pray for me. This has been extremely hard...I don't even want to think about other men right now...the whole idea of dating just sounds upsetting at the moment. I feel fragile, vunerable. I don't even know if I want someone right now--it feels like I would be better off alone. My heart just aches...I don't know how to handle this, so I just ignore it for the most part.
In addition...I want to be respectful of the time he wants to share with his girlfriend. I mean, if we had dated, I would have wanted the same thing of his other friends (all of whom are women...that sounds bad, but obviously he's not the type to be involved with his friends lol) I don't want to interfere with them and I don't know how the Lord will open the door when she's there. I mean, granted, he can't stay single forever. I don't expect him to. I just don't know how to handle this.
Dating aside...I do want my friend to receive Christ when the Lord would permit. I just don't know what to do. This is incredibly hard. Please pray for me. I appreciate all your time and consideration and thank you for your support.

adoring1 Wrote:Sweet girl...God will use whomever he wishes to reach this man. It is not our influence, but that of the Holy Spirit in us that brings others to Christ. Your focus now should be on your relationship with the Father and the Son. LET GO..that he might minister to your heart. Don't worry about other men for now...but just focus on your own healing. Read the Word...worship...praise...and do the other little things of life...that bring you joy. God may be closing a window so that he can open a door...stay focused on Him so you do not miss the blessing.
Father, comfort this young woman through this time. Show her your plan for her this friendship within her life...you may be changing it...you may be ending it...but only you know that. Father lead her and guide her and mend up her heart for good in this matter...that she may move to her next stage of growth in You and in the wonderful plan that you have for her life. In Jesus name...Amen!
Thank you for your continued prayers. I really do appreciate them. You give me good insight and I think I am going to be content with what I already have. So far, he is still my friend. I should enjoy what time the Lord permits and I should be satisfied with whatever comes my way. I am going to try to think on that rather than complain about what I don't have. So thank you for what you've said--for your prayers and encouragement. I don't think you'll ever know how much you touched me.

RE: Lost Love
Update--
I suppose things have been improved...at least in some aspects. Unfortunately for my friend, his girlfriend has become quite possessive. Within the week they've been together she has smothered him quite consistantly, exhibits very jealous behavior, and doesn't seem to appreciate his friends...who happen to be all women. He doesn't seem happy or satisfied at all with the sudden commitment to this woman that he barely knows. I would still be hurt if he were with someone else, but I don't want him in a relationship with a girl that is like this...I want him to be happy. He deserves a girlfriend/future wife who will put him first (beneath God of coarse--and not as close second either) and who isn't psycho in her actions towards him. Please pray for him. I would hate to see him end up down a trecherous road because of this girl. I want him to find the Lord and to end up where the Lord would have him to be, because he would find the joy that the Lord has in store for him. God does not desire us to be in misery.
The positive in this, the Lord has really assured me of my friendship with him. We've had some time together as friends to just get away (especially for him) and hopefully I won't have to interact with this girl. I really don't think she would like me considering the circumstances. lol Please pray that the Lord can use me and shine Christ's light through me. He's opened the door to people I never expected to witness to, including a total stranger. I don't know if that is in preparation for witnessing to my friend, but it was good and exciting to share the gospel. Please pray that He can still use me--that my friend will find the Lord. His misery will continue if he never finds him and I don't wanna see him suffer like that.
Thank you for your prayers and your consideration.
