RE: loneliness & depression

Please continue to lift him up in prayer and continue to praise for the work that God has done, is doing now, and will continue to do until complete. I talked to him on Wednesday morning, but didn't talk to him yesterday and haven't talked to him yet today, so I'm not sure how he is doing. God help him to seek you, help him to come closer to you through his struggles and storms. Please open his eyes to how much he appreciates and loves those that you have sent into his life to uplift, encourage, help, and provide for him.

RE: loneliness & depression

I lift up praise for the good days that he has had. His communication had improved, even on those days that were more difficult for him. Over the last few days, I have spoke to him for a few minutes yesterday. The two prior days he was working, and it is more difficult for him to talk at work sometimes. Please pray that his communication is not only restored, but improves greatly. Help him to reach out, help him to call back when he is unavailable and to clearly communicate. Closing off or pushing away will only make this and/or other problems worse.

RE: loneliness & depression

Is this a divorced man that you are befriending ?

If he has left his wife, & you are stepping in in prayer great, or if he is elderly, & praying for him, but be careful for a man to heal that has gone through divorce, needs prayer & also needs male friends as role models, for friendship.
I am concerned at your overdesire to befriend this man, I don't know the circumstances of this & I believe you need to use discretion.
You may mean well, but be careful.

DISCERN.

Ashley if I were you, I would take the wisdom of the advice given above. For you can make the situation worse for him, or be badly hurt yourself. Lightbulb

RE: loneliness & depression

I pray God will guide your steps and have his perfect will done in your life significant other, and the situation there, in Jesus name. Amen
Remember that will only happen if you allow God to guide your steps, for he never forces his will on us. Bless

RE: loneliness & depression

If he is free to marry biblically, that's wonderful & God Bless you.
there are men, the reason I say, & look at all the broken marriages of those that leave their spouse & want another. The bible only gives permission to remarry, if one is divorced, is when the innocent spouse has been cheated on (fornication).
There are so many that walk from a marriage only to look for another, without being biblically free to be dating/ remarriage, this is not Christian & goes against God's Order.
Sorry, if I have misinterpreted. I was concerned that if he is divorced & sad, & if his wife didn't cheat, there are men that seek sympathy & another woman but are not free to marry according to The Word.
YES, they need prayer, but they need male friendships (the men & women need female friendships) in order to reestablish their lives, after divorce. We all need friends but to heal the heart needs time. A faithful Christian will follow in God's Order, not their own!

God Bless, sorry if I presumed otherwise that is so.

RE: loneliness & depression

I know that the relationship is another separate issue, but you brought up a point that really reminded me of what I was already thinking. You said it will only happen if you allow God to guide your steps. My personal struggle is not letting go and letting God. I see things improving and want to take off with them, but I need to not stick my hand back in there, even if I have good intentions...simply to let go and let God heal and fix things.

RE: loneliness & depression

I understand. Sometimes it's hard to know exactly what the situation is without actually talking to the person who posted the prayer request. This man does need a strong Christian male mentor as well.

RE: loneliness & depression

my ex keeps marrying & divorcing women & claims to have prophetic gifts, he leaves them only to find another, & leaves them, hurt, broken & in debt. It's always good to test the spirits.
