RE: Advice, and comments please.
Our tendency is to rush when we're told to wait. I would pray for guidance and wait for the Lord's leading on this. Then, when you have an answer finish the book.

RE: Advice, and comments please.
I was in a similar situation. I had a friend I was trying to witness to and hoped to see saved. He came to church a few times with me and there was one Sunday where I knew in my heart God would save him. A salvation message was preached and mu friend was severely convicted. However as we were talking he did not accept Christ. I fell apart.
He and I had made some compromises before but after that day, I became very angry at God. It wasn't His faulty friend had rejected him and I'm sure that was the day He intended to save him....sadly he has a free will though.
Later, my friend made advances and I entered into a relationship with him. I had been in love with him for years
However I did not live godly. After a year and a half we had a huge falling out.
I have regretted my decisions and I've sent him countless material to witness to him. Also, I resolved tp.pray for him every day. I have hoped for reconciliation, but it was delayed. Last year he contacted me out of the blue. However he failed to mention he not only had a girlfriend but that he was moving in with her.
I had to cut off contact but I sent a letter and one last book. I explained to him my concern for his soul and that I thought he had a wrong view of the Lord due to my poor example. However, I also pointed out that he needed to make serious changes before we could talk again.
I don't know if the Lord wants to bring him back or not but I do believe He led me to pray for him and witness as far as I could. I hope in time to see him again and that he will be saved.
Don't know if that helps or not. I just saw myself in your story. I often thought of writing a book to cope, a work of fiction or something, but never did. My pain proved to be a road block. Hope this will encourage you and show you the right direction.

RE: Advice, and comments please.
The Lord may have someone better for you, so don't lock yourself in a cage waiting for someone who may never come back to you. Yes the Lord will answer your prayers better than you can imagine, but his plans for you may be with someone else that may appreciate you better. I pray God will continue to enlighten you and guide your steps to a good paying job too.
Father in heaven have your perfect will be done in this person's life, his book, and a good paying job for him, and most of all in his walk with you. May he not faint but keep on the good work ahead of him, for your glory and honor I pray this in Jesus name, amen.

Is important to see what Bible says about samson in this case. He had a relationship with a non believer woman. Because of that woman he lost his eyes and had great pain.
2 Corinthians 6:14 says about relationships between Christian ppl and non born again Christian.
Also friendship with world is enemy with Lord (James 4:4)
Therefore is important to avoid relationship with non Christian and also to avoid to put feelings in these relationships.
I like these verses : Proverbs 3:13-18
Is good to know that there is enemy who wants to deceive people (Revelation 20:10)

I just want to make it clear, I am not encouraging anyone to be unequally yoked. I cannot say that my friend was not sent into my life for a purpose but we were too close and I ended up compromising. However, I have learned my lesson. I have no contact with him for the past year and really haven't for 3 and a half years. My resolve is to pray for his salvation and to only reconcile should he have a good solid relationship with God.
I feel a bit judged unnessarily. My advice was for the young man to pray about the situation and to find comfort that he is not alone.
