I need strength
I have been having a couple of hard weeks. It was the first anniversary of my sisters death on Aug 26. The last time I hugged her and said goodbye, I didn't know it would be the very last time I would see her before heaven. That was just 3 days before she died. and 3 days after she died would have been her 52 birthday, Aug 29. Then after that week, a dear friend who has been battling brain cancer lost that battle and went to be with the Lord. My cat was hit by a car on the road and killed. And I have not been feeling well. I am sorry, I don't mean to whine. But it seems as though Satan has taken a strong hold, and I need to "get thee behind me Satan". So all of your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

RE: I need strength
Father, comfort Marie Rae in these losses...and let her be assured this is not a stronghold. At the time of the foundation of the world God foreknew the date of our birth and the date and nature of our death. Only we do not, but the Father does. Satan for all of his boasting and pretense to false power does not have the authority over life and death...only God does. Satan cannot bring us death...and must have God's permission for anything he does to us...sometimes as in the story of Job...God allows great testing to show the enemy the true character of his Son through people.
Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."
"Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. 10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."
The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger."
Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. (Job 1:8-12)
I have gone through a similar thing recently. My business mentor of many years died unexpectedly from a heart attack, 2 weeks later my brother was killed by a drunk driver. While we sometimes do not understand and suffer due to the pain of loss...when a soul goes home...it is at the appointed time. May God comfort you In Jesus name. Amen!
