Lord I pray that you will trully guide Shelly from the true meaning of love. Shower her with love and guidance, and if she doesn't find it to whom she expect it, Lord you know best, let her eyes be opened and her heart be without pain. In Jesus name. amen.

I have thanks to give to God for answering a prayer of mine regarding this situation. I received a number of text messages from my ex a few nights ago; he was in town with a friend of his and wanted to see me. After much deliberation, I decided that I should- it couldn't hurt anymore than it already has, right? I prayed for strength and went to see him. He asked me how I was doing and went into how he and his girlfriend are having problems. He's not happy, in a nutshell. I have reservations about it; I don't want to be his sounding board, but he was so persistant about seeing me and was adamant about my meeting his friend, and he made a specific stop in the town I live, and kept bringing up moments in our relationship, I thought "why all of this for nothing?" I feel optimistic again, but I just pray that this is a stepping stone for reconciliation. Maybe this is a test of forgiveness for me? I don't know, but I figure this was for a reason, and God wouldn't put me in a position to be hurt. I'm just praying and keeping my eyes open.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers. I have had very bad days, but lately I've been feeling an overwhelming sense of calm about the matter. It's not God I don't trust, it's myself. I allow myself to have doubts and fears about the outcome of this situation, and I am learning to put it all - completely - to the Lord. I won't deny that I want things to work out with my ex, but I know that whatever happens, I will be okay. Thank you all again.

Have you ever heard the saying, If you love something, set it free, if it comes back to you its yours, if it doesn't it never was? I think that once you pray and ask God for his will to be done, and then let go of it, It all will turn out the way God wants it to be.
Remember He wants only what is best for us, and no, he doesn't like us to be sad, he loves us. But if the relationship isn't good for us, then yes there is a period of sadness, followed by great joy when the real thing comes. Pray and Wait>

It's hard to let go of someone you let deep into your heart. Many of us have been there and know intimately the pain you are experiencing. Just know that God is in control of all and He would never tempt you or torture you with something or someone He does not intend for you. You need to let it go, and when you do God will show you what HE has in mind for your life and you will see in years to come what a wonderful thing it was that He did not give you what you are asking for. I hope that helps you, I know the deep longing and heartache you speak of. Jesus is always with you!

Dear Father, in the name of your precious Son and our Savior Jesus Christ, I pray for emotional healing and the revelation of your plan for this person and that she may have peace resting in your love. May Your will be done. Amen

It hurts for sure. Jesus crys too. Emotion and pain will be there for a while. It will go away when memory fades and there will be a point of closure. Some things just can not be rushed...let God heals you. There are many wise advice on healing...taking up a course or a hobby or volunteer work....basically change the focus of your mind. In the night, the pain will haunt you but one thing for sure that can keep you sound asleep is asking Jesus to heal you and let you rest in him every single day. That works for me.Lord, I pray that you heals Shelly from emotional pain.In Jesus Name I pray Amen!

I think the only thing you can do is give this to God. Completely.
I pray that God will give you peace. Focus on the Lord, stay in His word and have Faith.

Thank you for prayer. I am feeling hopeless and broken. My friends and family say it's time for me to let go, and I am trying so hard, but I can't. I've heard they are talking about getting married. I can't handle this hurt anymore. What do I have to do?

you are not alone Shelly. I am going through emotional healing as well.....no one knows the plan of the Lord until he clear shows you. I am very fortunate as God revealed to me in his word regarding my situation. My faith fully rested on His promise to me ever since. I quit holding on him as I believe in God's promise to fulfil His promise to me in time. It is not just concidental verse but the same verse reviewed to me constantly through various sources. God loves me and He loves you too....He will reveal in time to you His will regarding your relationship. Believe that "His plan is to prosper you and not to harm you, but to give you hope and a future".
I pray Lord for your peace be with Shelly so she could be healed and rest in you. Lord I commit her uncertainty, hope and lost in your hand. Show her your way Lord. In Jesus Name I pray Amen.

shellykeli Wrote:Does it mean anything when you can't stop thinking about a past relationship? When you dream about them calling you and telling you that everything was a mistake and they want to try the relationship again? Am I the one with the problem when my ex won't speak to me and is still living with his girlfriend, yet when I pray to God for wisdom and strength on the matter, I am left with an overwhelming sense of hope and optimism that it could pssibly work out? Am I selfish? I pray to the Lord to help me move on if we are not meant to be together and yet I cannot remove him from my mind or my heart. My mom says that, in the grand scheme of things, the chance of me and my ex getting back together is 50/50, regardless of the current situation, because if it is in God's will, then our paths will cross again. I pray every minute of the day that our paths will cross again. I'm so sure that it will work, but...I know that the higher I get my hopes up, the harder I'll fall. I apologize for being long-winded, but in a nutshell: I really believe my ex and I are right for each other, and I am asking for prayer that the Lord will show me a way back to his heart, through Him.

Thank you again.

Lord I pray for a hurting heart, for knowledge, and for your will to direct themn.
Psalm 55:17
I will pray morning, noon, and night, pleading aloud with God, and he will hear and answer.
